African American feels safer to say but I didnt wanna only mean americans
who is the most famous black man ever?
- Nelson Mandela
- Martin Luther King
- Kofi Anan (face of the UN for nearly a decade)
- Barak Obama
- Idi Amin (first that sprung to mind when thinking about the long line of insane African dictators)
Those should be the ones, but I have a suspicion more people know about Jay-Z, Beoncé Will Smith, Denzel Washington and Samuel L. Jackson simply because they are hugely successful performers.
In regards to MJ... he might be more famous than all of the others, but for those of us who weren't aware/around at the time when he was natural, I admit I have to remind myself that he was black and not white (not helped by my TV who only show his post-op days whenever he's mentioned).
Michael Jackson maybe?
This. He was in the running for most famous person full stop.
...
That is... sad.
@darthaznable: Technically not, actually.
Michael Jackson hands down. Maybe President Obama next. Then Martin Luther King. Next is probably athletes and inventors.
No mention of Malcolm X? Seriously guys?
Tbh, I think Dr. Dre is more wellknown outside the US than Malcom X.
@outside_85: I doubt it..especially given Malcolm's relations with the Islamic people worldwide.
Bob Marley is also another person that should be mentioned. He's easily as recognizable as Michael Jackson on a worldwide basis. You know what..I stick by Bob.
@juiceboks: true but i feel those who known for deeds and civil rights are getting less renown then entertains but Bob marley is one who should be in the top ten most famous people on earth sad to see him trumped by Michael Jackson another famos person to say is Jessie Owens
No mention of Malcolm X? Seriously guys?
He was awesome.
Jesus.......
Yup.
Deal with it.
Jesus.......
This was the answer I came hoping to find, and you didn't disappoint, mate ;)
African American feels safer to say
Michael Jackson?
Probably.
Jesus.......
Ancient Egypt = Africans. Moses passed for Egyptian. Jesus is a descendant...
(A lot of times people tell me that Egypt wasn't black because northern Africans weren't as dark as Sub Saharan. Norwegians are lighter than Greeks but I do believe they all are considered "white". If a northern African from thousands of years ago found himself in America in 2014 he would be considered black. So yeah.)
@darthaznable: Technically not, actually.
I only say technically because I'm atheist. lol
