Who is Snoke?

Snoke identity is honestly one off most interesting things to come out the New Star Wars trilogy. Some say he's an entire new character added to the fold, while others have gone as far as to claim he is Sidious' thought to be dead master, Darth Plagueis ,or a virtual bushel of other characters.

So, prediction/theories people ---- will Snoke be a brand new character, or a pre-existing one from past?

Brand new character from an obscure part of the galaxy, probably ancient enough to know of things like the Rakata at their peak.

Thats just my theory.

New character. The Plagueis theory sounds exquisite, but too many people are expecting it to be him.

And some of the other one's? Sound too far-fetched, just my two cents on this though.

I would be sweet if they brought the Rakata into canon.

My theory is Rey is Shmi Skywalker who adopts that name and travels to the past giving birth to Anakin creating a time paradox.

I like the theory that he's a failed clone of Palpatine and that Rey could be a successful clone or even Palpatine's daughter or granddaughter (though personally I prefer the clone idea).

I don't know. There are a lot of good theories (ie he's Darth Vader, or even Mace Windu) but I doubt all of them. Gun to my head, I'd stick with Darth Vader, but at this point, who knows.

From what I've heard here's a list of potential suspects...

1) Maul

2) Mace Windu

3) Darth Plagueis

4) An embodiment of the Darkside (like a force priestess only evil)

5) Palpatine's clone

6) Jar Jar Binks

7) A failed force experiment made by Plagueis

I recently heard a Set Harth theory... I'd be so mad.

Other EU choices would include Revan and Vitiate / Valkorion, both of which would irritate me. I've also heard of Darth Bane, a pre-Banite Sith, or Plagueis.

I don't mind the Plagueis or Bane theory. I actually don't want him to be a new character.

It used to be my belief Snoke was actually Plaguies, but now I think that fan theory is dubious.

Plagueis was the first thing I thought when I saw him. I really doubt they are going for that, tho.

I really think Snoke is the Grand Inquisitor from Star Wars: Rebels. He matches the look, the scaring, the age and him not being an actual Sith, yet a darkside user

I agree... Boba Fett spent years crawling his way back out of the Sarlacc Pit and that thousand years of digestion really did a number on him XD

Somewhat reasonable suggestions

• Darth Plagueis (His death is non-canon now, so possibly. Plagueis is a cool character, we need more of him)
• Darth Bane (Possible, since his death is non-canon although he would be really old. Plagueis would be more logical though)
• Just some random guy (probably the most logical, but that isn't fun)

Funny/strange far-fetched but could be possible suggestions

• Boba Fett. (Boba isn't force sensitive)
• Some random Giant Dude. (actually seems like a pretty interesting idea)
• Mace Windu. (kind of weird that he would go to the dark side)
• Darth Maul (I doubt it, he's already in Rebels and Clone Wars, we have enough of him)
• Jar Jar (no, please no)
• Rey from the future (hilarious if it actually turned out to be true)
• Darth Vader (he returned to the light side and he's dead so probably not)
• Palpatine clone (actually seems possible, but I don't think so)

Snoke=Lord Maul. Man, he gets sliced up to bits by Old Ben but doesn't die. Then, Benicio Del Toro's character is revealed to be Kenobi's grandchild, and Snoke's Dark Enforcer, but as the spirit of Kenobi brings back his descendant to the light Snoke stabs him through the chest with his badass double-bladed lightsaber. Then he kills Kylo Ren. Then he fights the Skywalkers (Luke, Leia, Rey) killing Leia, knocking Rey out and having Luke at saber point, but being shot in the heart by an alive and cyborg Han Solo.

I'am betting on Darth Plagueis.

I'm guessing he is a former ally of Darth Sidious.
