Where are you from/What do you do?

I'm a 31 year old Bookshop Manager from Edinburgh in the U.K. Started reading comics at the age of seven with UK editions of Spiderman and Zoids. I also roleplay and computer game. Don't collect anything at the moment due to lack of funds. Great to find a site where I can keep up to date with what is going on and chat comics.

39 and a 911 dispatcher (fire & EMS). I write fanfic and play in several Trek and XMen RPGs. I can't collect right now simply because comics are sigh out of budget right now.

Hey, new here and loving the site. I'm a 23 yr old sociology student graduating soon from the University of Texas. I work as an electronics associate at Sam's Club and am a freelance writer/artist.

I am 19, high school grad. from northern cali and I work at a newspaper production plant, and I am just now getting into comics

I'm 30 years old and the Student Services Coordinator at an nationally accredited college here in the Twin Cities. Generally, when I'm on here it's while I'm at work, my job allows me the freedom to surf the internets a bit.

I play PRGs, board games, I dabble in building models in the 1/2500 scale, read more than a few comics in a week. I know most of the staff or the regulars of the local comic and hobby shops here in the Cities, having worked at most of them.

I studied a bit of theatre back in the day.

I am 24, used to play college baseball at a small catholic university in shawnee OK, now I am going back to school at OU, in Norman OK, studying business marketing, and working for the local office of a National going international marketing corporation.

I'm the father of two super-children and lover of an awesome super-woman in my little city of France.As hobbies, i'm interesting in European Middle-age, I play volley-ball and table role-playing game(of superhero).The rest of the time, I read comics and european "bandes dessinées" since more of 20 years. My favorite characters are the teen titans, the X-men, stormwatch, the jla and the micronauts.I have a lot of fun of participating in this web site where any fan, hero and villians are welcome.

I have a problem also. Right, here in ireland they dont sell comics in lots of shops so i have to trek into town to get them in specailized creepy shops ,tear sniff, so id aprecaite if any one told me any good comics cause im going and wasting my time getting a crap one!!!!!!!

I'm a windows systems administrator working in Virginia. I love writing, reading, movies, and debating, so I've been enjoying my time on the vine. I've written a few short stories and I'm trying to put together an anthology while also working on a novel. Gotta stay busy.

Well, as a relative newcommer to this site, i thought it was about time to add my details to the list.

It appears I am not the oldest (thank god...).

I'm 35 rys old. I live in England, originating from a city called Coventry (near the centre of England) but find myself in the position of having to currently move house due to my job (I work for a large International company).

I started reading comics back when I was 6 yrs old (yep, old British reprints of Marvel comics), in 1978.

Just saying that makes it seem like so long ago (a life time....).

Anyway, when I was about 8 yrs old i also started to read some DC comics as well.

At the age of 12, I got a paper-round and used this money to really finance my collecting habit. At the age of 13, I started to play Advanced Dungeons nad Dragons (Version 1 for those of you who remember that far back). Also during my teens I got in to the Marvel RPG and the DC Heroes game.

During my later teen years, I got in to playing Champions and that's when my obseesion (yes I don't mind admitting to it) with seeking the holy grail of converting all comic book characters accurately to the Heroes ssytem began (and it continues to this day - it's sad to seek perfection).

I went to University and studied for a Material Science degree. During these great 4 years, I played far too many RPG games but still aced my course (thankfully). After graduating, I got a job as a R&D scientist and have been climbing the corperate ladder ever since. So now I find myself as a Technical Manager but this does allow me to travel to various cons, running games, and permits me to collect way too many comics - something that my long suffering girlfriend understands. Unfortunately (or fortunately) my collection has swelled to the point where I did actually need to move to house it - I had a whole room of shelving to hold it before and that may have to grow to two rooms (the collection numbers around 35,000). Well thats me in a nutshell (well actually about 3 paragraphs).

dude careful about the english teacher thing. i dont know about the rest of the country but our english teacher has had enough this was her first year... and her last. i dont know why but it always seems like english teachers get the worst treatment

Agreed. The English staffroom in my school is perhaps the most hated staffroom. Maths is the best for me, even if I do dislike that subject.

I've been waiting on the government to give me my green card and Social Security number for about 7 years, and they're actually that behind. I'm not allowed to drive or get a job until I have my Green Card.

I will be attending college for my Nursing school Pre-Req's about late august. I don't have an aspiration to be a nurse, i'm just in it for the money, and... well that's about it.

ohh, Hi Everyone.

Let's see, I'm 23 years old now and originally from a small-arsed town in Southeast Texas, roundabout Houston area. I've spent the last few years being a bit of a world traveler, finding myself in spots like Virginia, D.C., London, Mexico, etc. I guess thats what happens when you're a Sagittarius girl, got the roaming urge.

While my travels haven't been terribly conducive to keeping up with Comics, It hasn't been too hard for me to catch up now that I'm a little more settled in Grad School. I've been reading comic books (or more specifically, Wolverine comics) since I was six years old, and I had something of a terrible crush on Logan for jsut the longest time. Yes, it's true, I am not just a Comic book geek, but also a Computer/Video Games/MMORPGs fanatic. Despite all that, I actually make my living riding, training, and selling horses, which I have been doing since I was six years old also. My Bachelors are in Creative Writing and Studio Art, and I am currently working on a novel, as well as several comic book concepts. We'll see how that goes, I guess...
