What was the point in taking away the ability to make accounts?

This is what I don't get. Giant Bombs abilitie to make new accounts was taken down for only 3 days and the new GB site was up. Now why is ComicVine waiting over a Month to put the new site up and taking away opportunities to make new accounts? Why not just waite 3 days before the New Website goes up like GB did?

Because some coding have a problem with dashes. Slashes are the absolute bane of codes half the time.

It's not just another character; the characters that are important in codes (slashes) get screwed up when names have those characters.

CV, to my knowledge, have less staff working on the site's coding. So it's probably taking them longer, or they had some unforeseen complications.

@JediXMan: So the new coding also messed up space names? They need to get rid of this new code and get the old one back then.

Why would the new site have affect on making accounts though? It's not fair. Not fair for me. Its not fair for you and it's not fair for the newbies who find this site and decide to Join.

I did have something important to tell you. I asked why we couldnt make accounts. Why didnt the peeps on Giant Bomb have to waite a month? They didnt even waite a week. The new GB was up. Whats taking them so long to put the new CV up?

Jeeze, it's only temporary. For a free website I've had no complaints with ComicVine. I believe someone already answered the question of why its taking a month instead of 3 days, because there are fewer people working on the coding.

The GB site's had the beta going since early january, if not around late december. They have to completely transition CV over to the new format starting now. Which means a lot of sht's gotta get tweaked before it's at the same point as GB.
