How do you know if you have it? This girl I like is dating this guy and I overheard her say that she likes him because he's got a lot of swag. Do I have swag?
The concept of swag is kinda hard to determine. People tell me that I have swag, but I never say that I, myself, have swag. I guess you could say that it's other people's interpretation of you and whether or not you look cool. It's in the way you walk, talk, dress, and carry yourself. The most important thing about it is that you have to have confidence in yourself. It's not about whether or not people will like you, but that you'll be fine even if they don't.
That's odd. I really don't get why people want to have swag. Seriously, people in my school appreciate more their swag, telling me it's making them look cool among others.
Loose all your sense of pride and dignity. Once that's done, start acting like a douche.
All about attitude, think like that you ain't got it.
See that Vince Mcmahon walk, that's swag, he acts like that and he's not ashamed of it, don't just accept the things you do, own them and you got swag.
Swag by def is just having belongings traveling in a bundle, or money/goods that you have so....or decorative stuff. So if ya got any of that, you got it.
It's not new. People have been said to have "swagger" longer than most of us have been living.
Around 2000(?) Rap changed it's word for "cool" to "swag". That's it. Used to be called being "fly", "dope", "ill", "hot", "fresh".. on and on.
What is it? It's attractiveness and confidence. If you had it then women would find excuses to get to know you and be alone with you. If this is not happening to you then focus on making lots of money.
Many people don't know this, but S.W.A.G. is actually an acronym that was created by gay men back in the 60s when homosexuality was widely frowned upon. The acronym stands for "Secretly We Are Gay". Many of these secretly gay men were clothing and interior designers, or in other fields related to fashion. When they would receive overstock or samples of merchandise, they would refer to them as S.W.A.G. in order to let the other person know that they were interested in meeting for a sexual encounter. From there, it spread to refer to the "sugar daddy" relationships that some of these gay men would enter into with the wealthier, more successful members of their group. They would refer to the generous gifts that they would receive from their sugar daddies as S.W.A.G.
The term has recently been adopted into mainstream commercial "hip hop" where there are large numbers of closeted gay men and women who are performers. If you doubt my explanation, just ask yourself whether it's just coincidence that rappers are so obsessed with fashion designers and jewelry, just like the stereotypical gay man.
