The new Doctor is going to be Peter Capaldi.
So what do you think?
Don't look unless you've seen the BBC live Doctor Who.
I personally prefer Matt or David. The new person is fine though.
My top three Doctors are
David Tennant
Matt Smith
Tom Baker

That's more like it.
I was afraid Matt Smith was the beginning of a trend of 12 year-old Doctors.
I still would have preferred John Hurt.
Well he's a little quick to throw pills at me and send me out the door, but he's got a nice smile and a calming voice, so I'll keep going to him.
I have never been a fan of Matt Smith, never thought he was skilled enough for the role and so I am happy to see him leave. As for the new Doctor, he has a lot of tried and tested skill and so I am hopeful that this will signal a change for the show, just being 55 coming into the role is going to change the whole dynamic in a way that has not happened for many many years.
Why does it need a spoiler block?
I am sure he will be a good Doctor. Though he did play a major role in Torchwood Children of Earth.
thank god they are finally replacing matt smith. he is the worst doctor i've ever seen. anything he does 'well i'm the doctor aka GOD i can do anything, you do what i say because'. and i know other doctors were like this but this guy is such a cocky douche. everytime i see doctor who on tv i say 'huh, let's give it a go' 5 min later i remember why i stopped watching. him and the pond chick. she competes with the plank from twilight for the biggest b*tch award.
@sheenlantern: hurt would've been so good. but he's too old man. he's struggling with voice acting.
When I first saw him I thought he resembled an older David Tennant. At first I wasn't sure how I felt about the Doctor becoming an old guy suddenly, but I feel that it makes sense as Matt was the youngest Doctor, so this time they get an older guy for the role.
I'm excited to see what he brings to the series, though I will miss Matt as he was my first and favorite Doctor.
Hmmm...Sure! Why not? Since you mentionned your top 3 Doctors, I'll grab the chance to say one more time, Tennant was my fave, Tom Baker is my classic choice and I'm torn in the middle regarding the third place, cause I love both Matt and Eccleston.
I think he could be awesome. I mean the best thing about the show is that it is always changing and the doctor can be a old grumpy guy in the body of a 20 year old or a child like curious guy in the body of a 50 year old.
I do not know Peter Capaldi that well so I will not make any comments on if he could play the doctor well or not because I done that with Matt Smith and even Karen Gillan when they took over ... thinking one of them is too young to play the doctor and other one is too sexy to play the companion. And now one of them is someone I consider one of the best doctor and the other is someone I think is my favourite companion of all the previous ones.

Because the whole episode is built on the idea that no one knows who the new Doctor is.
