I am asking not to flame nor troll...as I won't nor will anyone else be refuting your answers...
I just want to hear it from you guys instead of the conservatives...
What do Liberals believe
" Actual Freedom and Equality for All. Basically the Values of Captain America... "What would that look like?
"I am asking not to flame nor troll...as I won't nor will anyone else be refuting your answers... I just want to hear it from you guys instead of the conservatives... "
It's nice that you have an open-mind of the issue, but flame wars will quickly generate in here.
That said, your statement is too broad. Just like any other general belief, there are different degrees.

if this is flamed...it should be closed

Actually both liberals and conservatives are generally people who have no idea how the world actually works logically speaking moderation is the best way to go

That can be simply answered by googling it. A far-right member is likely to come in here and make a generalized/insulting statement, and a lot will counter. It will eventually come down to arguing over trivial points before being locked and in the end, a massive waste of everyone's time. Just google the party beliefs ;)

QFT, sir! Unfortunately, the world doesn't work that way, nor will it ever.

True, but perfect moderation with anything is near to impossible sadly lol with humans I mean, know what I mean?
@ retolled I'm curious on hearing that as well. You inspire me for a thread of my own, thanks :)
P.S. LOL@ this thread. So much stuff left out but ehh not surprised. BTW, I'm sure K4 was referring to either Supertide or me or Roxanne lol, just like he messed up my thread...with nonsense afterall so...
RetolledTruth, you're not going to get a clear answer other then "safe, unexplained" answers from the libs on here dude like "we believe in helping people blah, blah lol" so do conservatives and every other party, but implemented differently which you know. But I think you know this already lol
Are you guys afraid to say your answer?
I know you aren't....I will not be flaming anyone...at all.
But I have a Conservative bias....and I want to use one of your opinions rather then my own...once that is achieved this can be closed@k4tzm4n said:

Conservatives and Liberals both suffer from eachother's inability to compromise so instead of actually working to accomplish anything they resort to petty smear campaigns to make their opposition look bad. Honestly yes there are many things that need to change in this world but despite what many would have you believe there are plenty of things working just fine and don't need any fixing but as long as people keep fighting over silly right wing/left wing crap nothing is ever going to get any better
Politics in general are "dirty and corrupt" but sadly sometimes we see it really bad from certain politicians. Example, if I was running despite party I would NEVER make personal attacks that are unethical, irrelevent and distasteful...what someones daughter does or someone being Gay in their personal time means squat to me, I'd want to go after what they believe in politically. Know what I mean?

I'm green so I'm kind of liberal and I'd like corporate america to not be able to by our government.

It's very black or white, left or right. Very extreme.
Compromise is perhaps one of the fundamental aspects in all relationships that, we, Occidental cultures in general seem to discard.

What do Liberal's believe in? Protecting the planet ofcourse!
Protecting the space time continuum since 1999.
Really?? Today's "Liberals" only believe in moral relativism and psychological Nazism in the form of political correctness.
Liberals pretend to care about the planet but they really just hate humanity and want to destroy humanity.
@dum529001:I'm glad you brought this up. I've been meaning to articulate something.
Meta-ethical moral relativism, the position that there is no objectively true morality, is false because:
- Sensory experience exists
- Sensory experience contains axioms (like the distinctness of red from blue)
- Some of these axioms are the undesirability of a situation to the experiencer (dukkha)
- Therefore, the undesirability of some situations is an axiomatic truth of existence
1. "Cogito ergo sum." - René Descartes, on existence
2. "Any effectively generated theory capable of expressing elementary arithmetic cannot be both consistent and complete. In particular, for any consistent, effectively generated formal theory that proves certain basic arithmetic truths, there is an arithmetical statement that is true, but not provable in the theory." - Kurt Gödel, on axioms
3. "I have taught one thing and one thing only, dukkha and the cessation of dukkha." - The Buddha, on dukkha
4. "The only proof capable of being given that an object is visible, is that people actually see it. The only proof that a sound is audible, is that people hear it... In like manner, I apprehend, the sole evidence it is possible to produce that anything is desirable, is that people do actually desire it…" - John Stuart Mill, on the axiomatic existence of dukkha
"The Buddhist tradition emphasizes the importance of developing insight into the nature of dukkha, the conditions that cause it, and how it can be overcome." - Wikipedia
We should be listening to the Buddhists.
Are we talking the real liberals? Like Thomas Jefferson and George Washington? Or are we talking progressive liberals who are essentially socialists? The difference matters.

They are probably talking about the fake liberals who preach about following political correctness and other crap like that.
@dum529001: That's what I figured. Most don't seem to appreciate the difference.

Speaking as a moderate. My understanding is that BASICALLY. (Again I say basically)
American Liberals believe in:
- Complete equality for all races, genders, and creeds
- A larger, more guiding government that is geared toward welfare of the people individually across the board. Particularly the under privileged and the middle class. (For instance greater emphasis on Welfare, Social Security, Education, Gun Control, and Social Programs)
- In general, they favor to prefer to raise taxes to pay for these programs.
- They generally prefer a smaller, less far ranging military.
- Tend to lean toward a more amicable approach to foreign relations. Being of the opinion that if we deal reasonably with other countries, those countries will do the same in return.
- Tend to prefer more regulations on trade and business in order to maintain a more even "playing field" in the business world, and to keep larger businesses from gaining to much control over an industry or product.
- Tend to be more concerned with the environment. Citing the environment is the key to our ability to create commerce (again, very basically), and that commerce will most often need to take a secondary role when it comes to protecting the environment.
Again, these are my understandings (that I've gotten from my more Liberal friends) of the basics. I've left out the FAR left ideas. I'm sure, one or both, sides will take me to task, but I've done my best to be fair and unbiased based on my own study and experiences. I hope this helps

The videos I posted above is basically a good explanation. The speaker is Republican so obviously it is biased but I agree with him.
Though videos #1 and #5 are perfect explanations of the differenences of Right vs Left.
Left believe in big government
Right wants a minimal government
Left believes to improve society you need to fight with everyone and push your ideals
Right believes it starts from the inside and from family values
The videos are pretty decent I agree.
I just tried to simplify the points and give them as much of a non biased explanation as possible is all.
Very vague and open ended question.
I would say that if you identify with a political party then you care more about the party than particular ideals.
If you don't have some strong disagreements with at least one thing a political party stands for then you are either a politician and just pretending or a sheep.
Let me put it this way, I don't want people to suffer but I still acknowledge I have a selfish streak, almost everyone does, if you consider yourself a full lefty and yet are willing to spend most if not all of your non-essential money for the pleasure of yourself and those close to you then stop and think, many people want to think of themselves as the good guy but it's not evil to look after yourself and those close but it's definitely not a left/liberal thing to do.
Their beliefs are simply whatever they personally believe... liberal and conservative are fake terms. People have some views that seem more liberal and others that seem more conservative.
We have rather specific liberals in Russia. They pretend that they believe in free speech and yet claim that all free speech except theirs is propaganda or delusion of "watniks". They pretend that they believe that democracy is power of people and yet they wanna to impose their views on people. They even sometimes claim that Russia need new people. They believe that West is Valinor and Russia is Mordor. They worry about a speck in Russia's eye when there is a log in West's eye. Of course i'm speaking now not about real liberals, but about guys from "liberal" political circles that you perhaps heard about such as late Nemtsov, Kasyanov, Navalniy and etc and their crazy supporters. The point is that one don't have to believe for real in some liberal views to claim that they are liberals.
