Most Academic scholars agree he existed, due to the evidence that he did indeed exist. However I've never really found Jesus being a White man to be very believable, he was born in the Middle-East 2,000 years ago...so my question is, was Jesus instead of a light brown colour?
Was Jesus truly white?
MOST academic scholars agree he existed? were these scholars christians? Jesus was truly fictional
They weren't Christian, but most Scholars do agree that he existed as a person, and there is much evidence towards that.

To quote Bane from TDKR "Well show me his body then."
I don't why there's any doubt that Jesus the man existed. He could have very well been a real person. He just didn't have any of the super powers that the mythology states. Stories and legends evolve over the years too.

Jesus the man definitely existed.

Most scholars agree that there probably was someone who started a christian cult which later developed into a religion. That person was probably called something like Yeshua, but there are really no reliable unbiased sources from which we could, with satisfiable certainty find out anything about his life. So when people say Jesus was a real person, I'm really not sure what they mean by that.
He was probably dark skinned.
Jesus was Jewish.
Jesus was real and Jewish. Some Roman historians were discussing Jesus as performing magic. Thus, Jesus both existed and performed miracles, as described in the Bible; the Roman historians thought Jesus was engaging in trickery; believing that demonstrates both that Jesus was real and performed miracles. Clearly, the image of Jesus as a white man is probably not accurate, but, to me, it doesn't offend me one way or the other as to whether He was non-white or white, where I'm non-white.
Depends on what you consider "white". He was an Semitic person and he did exist...ish because the Romans have an account of a Jewish rebellion at the time. He was Left-Wing progressive radical, not magic man as he is portrayed as in the bible.
If you consider Arabs white, Jesus is white. If you consider Arabs Arabs, Jesus is Arab.
He certainly doesn't look like the guy all those renaissance painters painted, he had darker features and curly hair. Not black though, he was Arabian
@dshipp17: Lols, no, Jesus never performed miracles or magic, the Romans didn't like him because he was a revolutionist and that is all they said of him. The Jewish clergy hated him because his disciples called him the son of God and they deemed it (Zod voice) HERESY!
He had a massive following because he championed populist ideals that made the rich uncomfortable, if Jesus performed miracles, the Jewish clergy wouldn't have condemned him because he would have proof.

Remeber the golden rule
Will this offend anyone of any race, age group, religion, or any parents/guardians?
Also what are you speaking about. We all know jesus is real man of miracles said he was jesus.

Can you show me the body of Julius Caesar? No. His body was lost after the Sack Of Rome. Does this mean he never existed? Jesus was just a man like any other, he probably existed alright, but just like a lot of other people, his remains are lost.
That's usually as far as these discussions go. Except for my ask a Christian thread that went reasonably well.
@sacredweapons: Don't use the Bible, what historical account says Jesus performed miracles?
@allstarsuperman: Give it a page or two
The only way Jesus would have been white is if he was an albino. If that was the case he probably looked like Edgar Winter.

The same could be said about Spartacus or Gangis Khan though.
HIs "miracles" are questioned by science, but I don't think science questions his existence as a person at least.
Well, no way to know, he more than likely didn't even exist....but if he did, he was a Jewish fellow, so white or slightly brown.
If you believe in him and his message does it matter?
This. The Jesus' race debate is very ironic.
I guess to better explain, Jesus is simply a construct of the mind, so he is whatever you want him to be.
@cable_extreme: no, no he wasn't. He was dark skinned with curly hair according to the Bible too.
Revalations said Jesus had feet of burnt brass(dark skin) and a curly hair. Not a very European sounding man.
@superguy1591: first MoM is the god of image universe if you have ever read spawn. Second Josephus said that he saw the rising of Christ. And finally Third although i was born into Catholicism if there were a god i would be going to hell anyways with the whole no swearing,no jealousy, "Do not want" thing.
@superguy1591: never said he was European, nor did I say he even existed.

Exactly, what I was about to post, so I'll just cite you.
@cable_extreme: okay, I just like seeing how Christians react when you tell them Haysus was dark skinned.
They don't receive that too well. =]
Btw, this was the Roman account of Jesus.
This seems accurate. It falls in line with the picture Racob7 posted.

Most academic scholars agree he existed as a man.
I can't wait for this thread to derail into how Jesus didn't exist and religion is stupid.
It won't. Just clarifying the most accurate representation of Jesus' race.

Also, there were Roman historians describing Jesus; the Roman historians would have nothing to describe, if there was no Jesus to be discussing.
