People like to call the other candidate racist and supportive of the Klan because some guy endorsed him. Obviously, candidates have no control over who endorses them or supports them. They can only disavow. But, a man named Robert Byrd who was a former Klansmen and former senator (longest serving ever) was a friend and mentor of Hilldog. According to her, he was a "true American original."

Robert Byrd helped to create a new chapter of the KKK in West Virginia in the early 1940s. He earned the titles of "Kleagle" and "Exalted Cyclops". Whatever that means.
"I shall never fight in the armed forces with a n-word by my side ... Rather I should die a thousand times, and see Old Glory trampled in the dirt never to rise again, than to see this beloved land of ours become degraded by race mongrels, a throwback to the blackest specimen from the wilds."
He filibustered the Civil Rights act of 1964 and was the only senator to vote against both African-American Supreme Court nominees Thurgood Marshall and Clarence Thomas. He apologized later for his service in the KKK of course, apologizing numerous times, and said something along the lines of - "intolerance has no place in America." But says this:

Hmm why hasn't the media covered this? Why haven't people called her racist and shunned her? Surely this warrants more attention than an endorsement, no?
