There are different ways to look at the talent of an actor: 1) Versatility - the ability to play different types of characters (Johnny Depp, Eddie Murphy) 2) Performance - the ability to play a particular type of character very well (Clint Eastwood, Robert DeNiro) 3) Film Appeal - the ability to immerse and draw in the audience (Will Smith, Samuel L Jackson)
