Testing cv's morals 3: of prevention and cure

You are the leader of human race, and a malevolent species has been discovered that is rapidly evolving. It is no match for you as of now, but at the rate it is going there is good chance that they will be far more advanced in the future. They are not friendly, but they are at least tolerating humans as of now, but considering their interaction, they may look to eliminate you when they become capable. Obviously, there's also a chance that they will mature with time and end up being co-operative.

A proposal has been brought to you to wipe out this species to prevent very possible extinction of yours. How do you proceed?

You say they're malevolent but at the same time say they may cooperate with humanity.

So the options are

a) We let them evolve, and they may cooperate with humanity or they may exterminate us once they evolve past us.

b) We exterminate them before they surpass us.

Going with option b).

Main reason obviously is that there's too big of a chance we become extinct, and that chance isn't worth taking. But OP states that they are rapidly evolving and implies they'll evolve past us. Eventually they'll reach a point where we are to the aliens what chimpanzees are to humans.

Would we really be comfortable being the equivalent to chimpanzees or even mice to a vastly superior race? What would be the point of the relationship? We would be of no value given how advanced they are. They would always be in a position of power over us. There would always be a foreign, alien power that would be superior to humanity.

Sort of like the Native Americans and Europeans.

If history is any indicator, what's to say we don't become chattle or end up being in one of their zoos or museums?

Like another species coming from Earth? That would re-write most religons, and if they suddenly become capablenof thought and evolve faster than we do, that would probably re-write the laws of evolution and biology as well.

I would not make them extinct nor leave them be, instead I will first turn them into a minority group, and have them breed with humans if compatible through multiple generations, giving the new sub humans the dominant traits of that animal while turning them into pseudo humans.

If they're on earth I would exterminate because their an invasive species. So no matter what they're intentions are their intentions are their growth cannot be sustained if we're competing for the same resources.

But if they're out side the solar system I'll opt for diplomacy.

I would probably destroy them though honestly with my luck a small portion would survive is hiding and evolve past us and get revenge even if they were planning to be friendly.

So they're not friendly, but they're not antagonistic? How did they respond to the first couple interactions?

If it's possible I would rather subjugate them while they're weak and have a plan for when they become strong buuuuut if not then I'd just wipe them out. Not before I let them get to a few people I don't like though.

I'd wipe them out. But first I would contain a very small percentage of their population--I'm talking 1% or less--and keep them for research purposes. We allow them to evolve under our close supervision, and if they too pose a threat, then wipe them out too.

Hear the plan, tell the relevant people to prepare its initiation, develop the plan in line with the other species' development, and refrain from using it until/unless they attack.
