What do you guys think about R-rated animated films (by "animated" I mean western animation, and not Japanese anime). A film called Sausage Party is releasing next month and Batman: The killing joke is also getting an animated adaption, also Samurai Jack is coming to the [adult swim] section on Toonami. So, should more cartoons follow this example and be aimed at adults and have mature themes?
R-rated animated films.
@black_wreath: How so?
@randac: There appears to be a disproportionate amount of things a film can feature in a PG-13 compared to an R.
My country has this:
- G - All ages
- PG - Parental Guidance recommended for under 15
- M - Recommended for over 15s
- MA - Restricted to over 15s
- R - Restricted to over 18s
Easier on the film industry and more accurate yet America's rating system causes films to cut content that wouldn't need to be cut under our system. Sucks for us because we still get the cut version. -_-

They are cool Akira for example. Additionally, Jin Mi Roh I should give a watch.
The hype around Akira is well deserved. The manga is really cool too.
@khael: Because you aren't old enough to see them ?
