Paladins Official Discusssion

A lot of people said that this was a rip-off of Overwatch but i would have to disagree. The graphics and gameplay may bare some similarities but Paladins is quite unique in its own ways. For example how it uses a card system to customize and improve the performance of your character. The game is still currently on Beta but the game has improved in a lot of ways since its Beta release. The game's free so if you're looking for something new to try out, do try Paladins out.

Who here plays the game?

I've been wanting to play Overwatch but it might be impossible at the moment.

Yeah his ultimate's amazing but for the rest, he's a pain to use. I personally prefer playing with Viktor and Androxus.

Just started playing today, got 28 kills on my second match, oh yeah!

Probably just the looks.

First 10 matches or so are players vs bots. I've done 90 kills in one match. When you get enough XP for players vs players you'll get stomped. Trust me. lol I suggest getting used to all the characters along the way. :)

Dude, Paladin's characters look like reskins of Overwatch characters. The developers should feel ashamed.

Dude. The characters were made even before Overwatch......... And anyway, Overwatch should be ashamed for copying TF2 too if that's the game you want to play. ;P

So far so good. Only lost one match with my new account and seems like I found my new favorite character in the game.

This is a great character to use. He could take down Fernando easier than Viktor. Also he's pretty easy to use and his ult's useful unlike some characters in the game.

@staticspeedster: lolwut According to who? Not only was Overwatch released roughly five months prior to Paladins, but the studio even admits that Paladins was "inspired" by other games in the genre, namely Global Agenda and Overwatch. It's really sad, honestly.

Oh, and I'd love to hear how Overwatch copied TFU2...

They did confirm getting inspiration from Global Agenda (which was their own game btw) but not Overwatch. Paladin's open beta was released only a month after Overwatch and they're still on the beta stage now. If you've played both games you would now no one didn't copy from anyone. Overwatch and Paladins are both completely different games.

Well it's I guess it's quite obvious that they got some inspiration from it. After all TF2 was pioneer in the multiplayer shooter game genre. Nothing wrong there.

@echostarlord117: You want to know how Overwatch copied TF2? Lol. One of the devs when asked only mentioned two differences (heroes and abilities).

Paladins isn't working properly anymore, it freezes randomly when in game, teleports me to random locations around the map, freezes the entire map (people freeze except me), fails to connect to the server every other time, out right crashes etc. I was working fine one the first and second days. Too bad, I enjoyed the game a lot.

Oh yea, and when I am forced to exit the game (crashes and laggs too much), it makes my entire PC stutter for awhile.

Hopefully it's just a problem with your connection. This worries me. I haven't played since last week and since then they had a new patch released.

@staticspeedster: Might be my connection or PC but it was working fine before level 7. Idk, I could play TF2 just fine before, though.

@staticspeedster: I did, they told me to switch servers, make it admin and lower settings. Which helped, but not by much.

SE servers is probably the best for us. What server did you move to?

@staticspeedster: No, SE is supposedly the worst one. The Australian one.

@major_hellstorm: I used to play on the Aussie server before the SE server was created. So far so good.

@staticspeedster: Well, Steam users say that it is the slowest one. Yeah, but I also play in the North American one in the night time.

Not all of them lives in the SE. ;)

I also used to play on NA servers.....

@staticspeedster: I guess, but NA and Australia work fine and I live in SEA.

How long ahve you been playing?

Two months ago. I've spent 15 hours i think including my second account.

@staticspeedster: Well that explains why your record is so much better than mine. One day, I'll make an account with a ratio of 20 wins to 1 lose, lol.

Good luck with that. Paladins players (or at least any other players from other online shooter games) have a bad habit of not doing the objective and instead concentrates on having as much kills as possible. Believe me that doesn't help all the time. It's the reason why I lose.

@staticspeedster: Yeah, as a tank, I know that all too well. Except for this onw time when I was with an all gold team (my Fernando is gold) against an all gold team, one of the breatest most intense matches ever!

@major_hellstorm: Well since you "mastered" Fernando you should play with other champions.

@staticspeedster: I haven't mastered him yet, his Ult. And F buttons are rarely used by me, and I'm trying to use them more often for deadlier attacks. But I did try Grohk and will try Viktor, I sucked at Grohk, though.

Viktor is the easiest one to use so try him out!

@staticspeedster: I dunno, I'm not good with anything but front line/tanks, and I like sustained attacks. But as a Battlefield player, her shouldn't be too hard, right?

New Paladins players get paired with bots until a certain level. Then you play against real people.

Good, because I heard some stories of people saying that they're great at this game up until the big reveal. lol.
