I love this game
"Official" Yu-Gi-Oh! Thread
@the_stegman: Not like he's actually relevant though, lol. Stratos still banned though, Konami is such a troll.
@queen_marceline: oh no he's not. I just thought I'd never see him off the list. Though, I said the same with Black Luster Soldier and MoBC.
@the_stegman: Eh, there are some things that were banned so long ago that it doesn't even make sense. But really, where's my Stratos at? lol
@saint_sophie: yep
@queen_marceline: Stratos' first effect is AWFULLY good though, lil too good.
@queen_marceline: Heroes have 3 e-cal, rota, and so many support cards, they honestly don't need Stratos.
Heroes is the single most supported archetype in the game.
@the_stegman: LOL, Stratos is a joke compared to all the bullsh*t they've let into the game recently.
@queen_marceline: I haven't actually played in years and years. So I have no idea what current cards are in :o
@the_stegman: Lol, the game's meta changes pretty rapidly these days thanks to power creep. You're way behind if you haven't played in years
Is there anyway to play Yugioh online without download? I don't really want to download and install files atm.
My friends no longer collect cards so I don't know anyone sites to use? The only I ever heard of was Dueling Network.

@saint_sophie: You're out of luck. Just get DevPro :)

Heh literally right after I posted this I downloaded YgoPro and extracted the file, though Idk if I actually did it right, I just clicked on the file that said exe on it haha!

Dang it's awesome that we have a thread for this. Growing up this was a huge part of mylife, I was sponsored by a local store, made friends with some of the best players in the world, and got pretty decent at the game (about a dozen regional tops, a few OSTs, and day 2'd I think 3 YCS).
I've actually been considering coming back to the competitive scene this summer. If anyone could give me some kind of run down of th current meta-game, that would be awesome!
@queen_marceline: I stopped playing when Xyz became a thing. And don't get me started on Pendulums...
I stopped playing Yu-Gi-Oh when I was 10.
Didn't know this many adults still played it. Interesting.
Okay, I'm kind of confused on the XYZ and Pendulum monsters like wut?
Anyways, I love YGOPro now cause I don't have the means to go to tournaments, not that much money or friends who are still interested. So yeah. And I'm surprised, but the Cyber Angels can actually hold they're own.. too fast decks kind of screw me over but I haven't been stomped.

@saint_sophie: What are you confused about?
@saint_sophie: What are you confused about?
Well.. I just started catching up with the anime to kill time and when they first summoned them I'm confused on the whole concept and summoning, I get the XYZ summoning but for some reason Pendulum kind of doesn't click with my brain.. idk,

Pendulum monsters are treated as effect or normal monsters like every other monster. However, when they are in the pendulum zone they are treated as spells(So you can destroy them with things like Mystical Space Typhoon). If a pendulum card would be destroyed or sent to the grave while on the field it is placed face-up in the extra deck instead. Each pendulum card has a "scale", a number that represents a level. When two scales are set, you can summon monsters from your hand or pendulum monsters from your extra deck whose levels are between the two scales. So, for example; if you have a scale of 2 and 6 you can summon monsters whose levels are 3-5. You can only pendulum summon once per turn.
Anything else?
@queen_marceline: Nope. Thank you. :D. You really know your stuff so my hats off to you.

@saint_sophie: No problem~ You have Devpro, right? What's your username?
@queen_marceline: I actually use YGO Pro.. is there a difference? Also I don't know about nicknames or usernames, but I go by Gisele I'm not that good though haha.

Also.. there's a new preview for the episode of Arc V that Alexis is set to appear in. Looks like we get a new Cyber Angel :D

Anyone know if there is like a pokemonshowdown for yugioh? I kinda miss the good ol' days of dueling.
@johncena69swag: There was Duelingnetwork, but that's broken now. You can download DevPro though.
@johncena69swag: There was Duelingnetwork, but that's broken now. You can download DevPro though.
Thanks! How does it work? Does it manage its own rules? I played one before but everything was manual so I kept getting opponents who cheated and kept drawing when I was doing something else like I wouldn't notice lol.
@johncena69swag: It has automatic ruling programmed into it. Though, you can't take back a move once it's done. It's really good though.
@queen_marceline: nice I gotta check it out. Thanks for the help!
Maybe we should host another tournament on DevPro. No Top-tier decks though, so Kozmo/Monarchs are a no-go.
@the_stegman: @saint_sophie: @queen_marceline:Ew, Kozmo and Monarchs are annoying af. Konami keeps making more op sh!t right after they ban//limit it. Also did any of y'all here the theory of Kaiba being the main villain in ARC V? If he is the main villain we'll be seeing the new Blue-Eyes support in action. Nowadays I just use ygochrome (ygopro percy on chrome).
@xlab3000: There's tons of new Magician Girl support too. I might make a Magician deck now.
@the_stegman: I'm still waiting for The Darkside of Dimensions to come to America so I can see Yugi and Kaiba use the new support against each other.
@xlab3000: Monarchs aren't even relevant anymore lol. Kozmo has been seeing less play as well.
Think it's time for a bump.
With Duelingbook back up(an easy-to-use dueling site like duelingnetwork, don't have to download anything), anyone interested in a tourney? :p
Using the rulings post link-monsters
@pirateking: I mean, I personally use Devpro. But Duelingbook is easier to register/use since you don't have to download stuff
@stormdriven: Well, they're changing a bunch of stuff so you might as well. Link Summoning ruling will hopefully make some decks less.... annoying.
@queen_marceline: I doubt link summoning will slow the game down. It might slow the extra deck down but with the way Yu-gi-oh works is they basically just break the game more and more. There is still a lot that can be done with the main deck.
@queen_marceline: what's Link Summoning?
@jashro44: I mean, someone's already managed to "break" it... but for the most part, some decks won't be as fast/good as they normally are and it'll take more skill/resource management than it currently does. It should also give more advantages to decks that don't use extra decks. But I suppose we'll have to wait until it's in full effect to see.
@queen_marceline: what's Link Summoning?
A new type of summoning. Essentially, there's a new monster zone specifically for extra deck monsters and unless you control a link monster you can only use that zone for extra deck stuff.
@stormdriven: Well, they're changing a bunch of stuff so you might as well. Link Summoning ruling will hopefully make some decks less.... annoying.
It'll just make people stop using those decks altogether, and instead use Lightsworn and Infernoids which will be equally annoying. Also from what we've seen of Link deck engines they're really just the same kind of swarming, and are capable of swarming Links in an equally annoying fashion to what the rulings were meant to prevent.
The only decks which revolved around Extra Deck monsters that are sort of protected are ones with main deck bosses.
@queen_marceline: I guess. I feel like it nerfs the extra deck to much. I also don't like the fact you have to play link monsters if you want to use the extra deck but I guess we need to wait and see.

There are ways around it, you just have to play/plan smart; which seems to be what konami is trying to do with this new ruling... too many decks seem to just play themselves
@queen_marceline: When you say there are ways around it do you mean there are ways of playing an extra deck without link monsters? Or are you saying there are ways around the new mechanic?
