what do you think?
is the universe alive?
The universe is but Batman's dream.
Once he wakes up everything is over.
Alas, we only lasted a second in his eyes.
@thedandyman: I want what he's having
Subatomic Particles act different when observed than when unobserved.
How would we know how Subatomic Particles act when they're not observed?

@giliad_: Whatever it is I imagine it's illegal in most countries
@judasnixon: lol Yes, I understand science. I'm asking a question based on a fundamental principal. The fourth part of the Scientific Method is "Test with and experiment". How do you test something you don't observe? Pretty basic question, no?
Nope, not alive. At least, no evidence for that at all.
@mrx1122: Why the question?
The definition of life ,,,,
The capacity for growth? = Yes.
Reproduction? = No. (at least as far as I am aware there are no little Universe JR's running around ;).
Functional activity? = Yes.
Continual change preceding death? = yes.
I am no Cosmology scientist but that kinda seems to be 3 out of 4. But Is it actually alive and Is there consciousnesses?, No. At least as far as we know. Though there are a lot of "coincidences" in the Universe.And there is so much we do not know. What we do know (theorise) is fascinating though.
**Edit** - If you are truly Interested in this question, You might be Interested in checking out more on the theory of the Anthropic principle. It goes into the Universe's fundamental constants that are necessary for accommodating life. Most of it goes over my head though ;). While Interesting, Much of It comes across as a bit of a paradox to me. Kind of like "If a tree falls and no one is there" ETC,,,.
Are you high?
Do not know about anyone else. But erm,,, yes, I kinda am a little ;).
