Is Canada less racist than the U.S.?
@solid_snake97: Ey you from Canada? Ooh wow, I thought you lived in Canada.
Cool.
We have our own set of racist asshats, but i don't think to the same extent as the US. That is if I don't include the closeted racists lol
Pretty much this
Some would argue Canada is so afraid of racism that it unintentionally cucks itself.
Yea as I Canadian I agree with this.
Also we do actually have a lot more active racism than the US with the situation going on with the First Nations people.
Probably, I'm not sure. If stereotypes are correct about Canada then yep, if not idk
residential schools were open until the 1970's in Canada
Take that as you will
Also we do actually have a lot more active racism than the US with the situation going on with the First Nations people.
To be fair we've had this problem for what centuries or something , the government is finally owning up and is "attempting" (I use the word loosely) . We should be farther into this process of reconciliation then we already are but it won't happen for along time. There's also the issue with corporations that keep trying to kick them off their reserves.
Edit: also i believe the last residential school was closed in 1996
There's too much of this notion that Canada is full of nice people and nothing is ever unjust there.
@decaf_wizard: nothing America didn't do. So yeah Canadians seem cool I guess, maybe I should move there. Does the American dollar work there or would I have to convert it over? And is it better to know Spanish or French is Canada?
@hypnos0929: sorry for butting in but to answer you're question it's definitely better to know french in canada but not really necessary

1) I have never been to a Canadian town or city that takes American dollars. There might be a few places in Toronto but thats about it.
2) French. If you want to get a cushy federal government job, be bilingual and watch as you rake in the government benefits. Also its practically mandatory if you want to live in Quebec (by far the most liberal province in Canada if you like that) and really helps if you wanna visit
@decaf_wizard: @jaycool2: thanks
@asgardianbrony: It actually was in the news though, and justice was actually served in this case. Deservedly so.
So, what's your point?
@asgardianbrony: Exactly. Is the races were reversed...
There would be riots all over Chicago.
Barack Obama would invite the victim to the White House, the same way he invited Mohamed Ahmed.
Social media users would flood the internet with support.
Donald Trump would be blamed for it, even if he had nothing to do with it.
And liberal news sites would not put out articles like the one I'll put a link to below.

@asgardianbrony: Yet, once again, justice was swiftly served here. There's literally no reason for it to still be in the news.
The difference, that I think a lot miss, is when flipped, justice either never comes, or takes far too long. Here, they were found, tried, convicted.
@juiceboks: I read about that, didn't really get much exposure at all.
That's just beyond words, to not only let him off, but to not even acknowledge the crime for what it was.
That's exactly what I mean though, people get up in arms about the things that were actually resolved. Trying to force a clearly biased agenda. But when people go unpunished, there's always some disgusting justification.
@juiceboks: The worst thing is that people don't even see the hypocrisy.
I believe the prevalence and observation of racist behavior corresponds to the population density of the society.
I think Canada's population density is pretty low compare to the US at least on areas where it matters.
But let them live on an Island as small as California and you could probably see them resorting to tribalism and going after each other's throat.
Idk, both are extremely racist mostly towards whites.
What makes you say this?
Idk, both are extremely racist mostly towards whites.
What makes you say this?
Maybe because of "political correctness"

So you're saying the attempt to respect all races and genders that white people are "still" discriminated against?

I dunno, that what I observed as a non-white, non-black person. Ask the people who regularly cries about their white privilege.
@richardcranium: I only say this because I fully believe that white people are the least discriminated against when it comes to race.
