Yes, because only "America" has racists in it lol.
Ignorant level in thread level 5000!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
America was NOT found on "racism". Racism sadly was the mainstream thing back then ALL over the world...don't know where people are being brainwashed into thinking that it's exclusive to America lol.
Well, in comparison to other countries, it is a very convenient, free, diverse and democratic place to live, but no country is perfect. I also think that the American government should have less power than it has right now. Lower taxation, fewer strict regulations and more job growth would all help.
I can agree with this, and the blind patriotism someone mentioned above. I happen to love where I come from, but it is far from perfect and recognizing faults is as much an act of patriotism as supporting your country. Patriot has been over-used by politicians, all of whom design their own definition of it, and thus it has become a bit of a dirty word.
I wouldn't prefer to live anywhere else, and I'd rather improve it so it can be the country it should be for everyone here.
I don't know what I could say to improve on this.
Racism and Homophobia don't exist in other countries?
Not sure how you could misinterpreted such a simple statement. I'm just gonna repeat it.
North America is the most racist and homophobic place I've ever been to.
You've CLEARLY been to very few places.
I have no idea why you are connecting diversity with Racism and Homophobia
What were you talking about when you said 'diverse' if you weren't talking about the people?
Btw, while there IS racism here (as well as everywhere else), you might take a second to notice that the MAIN reason the US dominates the Olympics is it's BECAUSE we're so diverse? China has us beat by population and financing...yet we still consistently beat them...why? Because we have such an amazing pool of diverse cultures, ethnicities, other groups to pull from. So yes, I'll have to disagree on us not being diverse, and positively diverse as well.
I also have not noticed any surveillance cameras or police officers in my residence or at the workplace, but I guess they might be invisible. lol
If the whole NSA scandal has managed to pass you by this long, I wouldn't rule it out as an impossibility that you've missed some CTTV cameras, too.
I don't know what country you live in (I assume somewhere in Europe, possibly a Latin American country), but the United States is a very newcomer to the whole "surveillance state" thing, and the state keeps hitting road blocks when it tries to snoop on people. Almost all the European countries have been doing things like this for decades. The difference is their news media aren't allowed to report on covert government activities such as these. Don't believe me? Look into your own country's press access in regards to government affairs laws. The whole "freedom of the press" concept is a United States invention. The difference here is that when the government steps out of line and the press finds out, you HEAR about it.
Democratic as in not totalitarian.
Not that far off, though.
lol I Can dig you not liking the United States...you're certainly welcome to (and also true...technically we are a Representative Republic...which IS a form of Democracy) however, feel free to put down the crack pipe equating us with "totalitarianism".
Criminals in our country very often have more rights than their victims, people with hurt feelings can change the way an entire school, business, or local government operates, disgruntled voters can riot in the streets and burn and destroy things and rarely, if at all, get a slap on the wrist. Things are FAR from perfect, but please call us out on what's actually wrong with us (heck, I'll help, I have a list), don't just make things up.
It could be, honestly don't know. This country could definitely use more mental disability benefits in schools and jobs though, and to be fair other countries definitely lack these services as well.
in one poll i looked at the greatest country in the world to live in is Germany
let that sink in.
although in another the greatest was denmark.
What a loaded question lol. I will say though it is amazing how America has lasted so long and lasted so long as one of the most powerful nations on the planet.
This past election brought up a similar question, which led to a small debate on whether America is still great, ever was great or will be great. How that is even possibly calculated is a question within itself. Everyone has their own opinion on that or side they choose to take. But why don't we put it aside and make M'urica better?
I am American but don't see it as inherently better than a lot of other countries. Especially without having lived in any other country outside of short visits. Its prob a top 10 country to live in but I wouldn't say more than that. We spend way too much on things like defense. Our healthcare is insanely expensive. Bloated bureaucracies. Maybe I'll feel better about this country 4 years from now.
People are often biased towards the country they live and grew up in, especially if they never leave it to experience other nations and cultures.
Speaking as an outsider aka non-american I wouldn't call America the greatest nation on Earth, because to me it has some colossal flaws that drops it below alot of other nations. Like, there are far too many people getting killed on your streets, even with Obamacare your healthservice is dreadful, you have a huge group of people living below the poverty-line and you have this weird tendency to vote in some of the most slimy politicians into positions of power.
Now I am not saying America is a terrible nation to be in... but personally I have other places I'd rather move to if I had to.
