If NPC's In Video Games Were Sentient What Would They Do?

Somehow I don't think level one would be nearly as easy if they were. Seems to me that the levels would spike in difficulty at level 3. Because by then the NPC's would have a pretty good idea what your all about. I think they would gang up on you, no waiting for you to reach the boss, the boss would confront you WITH henchman. It might be a stomp unless you found a place to hide.

Here's a second idea:

No character resets, you create a character and if they die, they die. You can create a group of characters from scratch, but you get no second lives. The character design is such that it won't allow you to create the exact same face twice. So if you create a character you like, be careful not to kill them off in a battle you know you will likely lose.

NPCs as in like villagers or are you talking about enemies?

Either way the best course of action would be to avoid the Player.

Both. If they did that the game would be boring would it not? Unless of course they NPC's could TALK. That would be VERY fun. Especially if they had human intelligence. Of course all new laws would probably be put in place to save the NPC's from the cruel humans when they cry foul. LOL.

You're right, games would be a lot more difficult. You're just strolling through the level and nobody is stopping you, then you get to the boss battle and find out that everyone is there. Unless you had an explosive, lights out. And of course there's plenty of games where once you find out one way to take out an enemy it works for the rest.

NPC sentients would be interesting. Diablo has a hardcore mode where if you die you lose your char, if you didn't know.
