I'm native american but nobody notices

Hahaha, my wife has a ton of Native American ancestry. Both of her grandmothers were full blooded. However, when people guess her heritage she gets........Jewish.... more often than not. It's the nose I think...

Dark or fair complexion? My wife is very fair skinned but she can get a tan after only a few hours in the sun. She keeps it much longer too.

Pretty much that. I'm half-white so if I stay out the sun (God knows I try) I keep pale enough, but if its wicked rays touch my flesh they reveal who I truly am.

I have huge respect for Native Americans, they survived one of the most violent genocides along with those done to Jews and Serbs.

@joygirl: My dad is black but I look completely white. Most people who know me treat it like a trivia fact, but other than that, they don't seem to care. It actually led to a few uncomfortable questions during middle school, when they first found out, but most of them seem to have matured since then.

I don't tan well so I don't really try. My older sister has more of my father's traits and could pass for latina.

I'm a quarter Cherokee. Or was it one-eighth? Either way, no one would know it looking at me. Every genetic marker I have from my Cherokee ancestry is recessive, apparently. Too much sun and I get all lobstery. I'm also a pale, freckly ginger.

I'm Shoshone/Blackfoot. My mother donated German, Spanish and something else. It doesn't particularly matter. One reason I think people in real life shouldn't notice or care is because I don't like them enough to keep the conversation going. I pass for Mexican, despite my big nose. The term Native American should be changed to autochthon.

Born and Raised in Oklahoma so I'm obviously part Indian American
