"Pop is generic garbage" is an opinion, hence no definitive factual basis, and one that can't possibly be sufficiently developed considering the variety and magnitude of the genre

If anything, he's self aware about his music. As unconventional as it is, I can understand why one would prefer it to more mainstream artists, as much of their work can be viewed as repetitive/trite/generic.

@sergeant-rl3: He is a little like a modern Frank Zappa, he doesn't care what people think of his music and he is doing what comes out of his mind. Most mainstream artists doesn't write their own songs or compose them and they are written to be political correct and they are too scared to leave their place
