How do you see stand up going?
@comicstooge: That's where it gets interesting. Johnson is very fast on the feet and very accurate. Dillashaw's footwork has improved to the point where this fight could go either way in stand up.
Both guys are so well rounded, I have no idea. Hopefully we'll get to see this fight in the future.
I'd put my money on DJ. He's not Barao, he's not just going to stand there and let TJ kill him Jon. I also don't see him out-grappling DJ.
@somayareece: @neonindian: @comicstooge:
Johnson (advatages)
Much longer winning streak | 2.2x longer winning streak; has momentum coming into a fight
Significantly stronger jaw | More than 10% better at avoiding being knocked out; fewer dangerous concussions
Significantly harder to hit | More than 5% better at dodging and blocking powerful blows; endures less damage
Puts up a fight | Around 10% better defense against being finished quickly; can fight into late rounds
Better submission offense | Around 5% better at securing submissions; more ways to win
Better submission defense | More than 5% better avoiding and escaping submissions; less likely to have to tap |
TJ (advatages)
Much heavier hands | Around 15% better at knocking out good defenders
Significantly fast finishes | More than 5% better at finishing the fight quickly; minimize risk of injury or loss
Significantly better takedown defense | More than 5% better at avoiding being taken down
Taller | Around 5% taller
By calculations johnson has this won.
But it can still go either way imo!
@those_eyes: IMO, Cage Ranked also says Mighty Mouse has an 80% of beating Mark Hunt. It's pure stats.

Catch weight it obviously is different for some calcs. You cant got that far off of the weight difference and except calcs to help. calcs can only get you so far.
Cruz walks in and decisions both...
A focused TJ who is not fighting emotional beats Cruz. Fight me!

Did you just use calculations/stats to analyze a fight? Are you serious dude? That is one step away from people who use power-scaling on DBZ forums.
Everyone who watches MMA knows that calculations/stats are THE LAST thing one should use to form an opinion on a contest. Every fight has so many variables that pure stats can't account for; different opponents, external factors (injuries, training camps, short notice), varying weight-classes etc etc.
It doesn't take a rocket-scientist to figure out that using pure stats in a MMA discussion/debate is pure silliness. Hell, people who really understand the game don't like using FightMetric to even judge a fight. And you used Cage Ranked, that is even sillier.

No. TJ is too big. Current TJ would maul DJ.

Cruz, who's fought both, has said that DJ would beat him.

Because Cruz said that DJ beats Dillashaw, we should accept it as empirical fact? Have you ever stopped to think that it was because Cruz is biased against TJ Dillashaw? Cruz also said that Diaz would beat McGregor again.

Cruz has also never fought Diaz and McGregor, it's one thing to analyse someone as a 3rd party, but to have fought both of them means he understands what both men can do intimately. It's not the be all and end all of information, but it's relevant.

This holds no value. DJ still dominates. Beating up a washed up Barao means nothing. His win over Assuncao was anything but impressive.
@WarBlade539: Maybe....Once he stopped loading up and looking for the headkick K.O, and started pumping the hands as a distraction while looking for the leg kicks, he took the last two rounds... I can't deny that.

Well, TJ has come out and said that he struggles to keep weight on, and weighs 150 while eating alot of food and engaging in a regular weight training regiment. He's in fabulous shape, but he doesn't drain himself to reach BW at all...

Beating up a washed up Barao.
There is literally no evidence for this. Barao was dominating the division in Cruz's absence. Barao's slump started after he got demolished by Python Killashaw. When top tier fighters suffer devastating defeats, they often end up slumping in form. Its often Mental. There is alot of revisionist history around T.J TBH.
Also we may get this fight as I'm fairly certain UFC are going to give Cruz Cody cause wolf tickets, and TJ may not feel inclined to wait around and fight the winner. Plus UFC are running out of FW's for DJ and they more about looking for quick fixes than building up the Flyweight division as a whole. So to them a DJ vs TJ fight could make sense to them. TJ has expressed interest in fighting in FW as well.
