Coldplay vs. Radiohead

Not really two bands I would compare xD

I guess Coldplay because I prefer acoustic songs.

Radiohead! Absolutely no question about it.

I'm not much of a rock fan...but from the little I've heard from each, I'm going with Radiohead.

Plus, Captain America himself enjoys Radiohead ;)

Should be a third option.

Gah --- why would someone put these two bands together?

The better band is Radiohead -- for overall musical talent, ingenuity and originality but Coldplay to me, on a very personal level, has been part of my life in an extraordinary way.

So, Coldplay wins. Every album, every song are soundtracks to my life. So far anyway. :)

Its not the fact that have only like one good song "Revival", or the fact that have a weird dress sense (to me), but its how when they were given interview time, instead of using their time to I don't know promote themselves, they spent the whole time abusing The Smiths, one of the most definitive bands in the U.K ever, bashing not only Morrisey's personalty as being over the top ( Excuse me you once performed with a dress, smudged Make-Up and pretending to have severed fingers) and over bearing (Even though the lead does all of the talking). He then went on abusing Morrisey's lyrics, which are highly regarded as being the most beautiful and complex ever produced.

But its not even that annoys me. They said the work by Johnny Marr was at best average. WTF. That is unforgivable. Absolutely unforgivable. But even after that, I gave them an honest go, and they were sh!t, apart from Revival, that's actually good :p, but that was about it.

They are a sub-par Band, which were simply trying to gain attention by attacking something alot people have strong opinions on. Fact is, the Smiths have produced B sides which are better than Deerhunters entire collection.

And how does this relate to Radiohead? The Smiths are one of their biggest influences- they even made a cover of the Headmaster Ritual as a shout-out to the band.

Edit- Oh the lead has some sort of disease which makes him so skinny, though I would think even if he didn't, he would do so just to gain attention.

I get that he wasn't too happy about what Morrissey had to say about the Ramones back in a 1976 interview, but this guy goes on to trash the Beatles as well. What an idiot.

Exactly, what he failed to realize was it was a young Morrisey who wrote that about the Ramones, and latter went to recommend them. Morrisey even went on to slam the New York Dolls later- a band he was super passionate about when he was younger as well.

Yeah, The Beatles I'm not going to get into that, I've done enough complaining as it is. Back to Eurovision :P

Radiohead is more "original" but I'm a bigger fan of Coldplay. I do think Vanilla Skies (if I'm not mistaken) is brilliant.

I'd have to go with Coldplay on this one. Yellow is just too amazing :P

I am surprised, Coldplay is a cheap rip-off of Radiohead and that people think their music is good only because it's popular now.

Captain America: Man out of Time. When Cap adjusts to the 21st century, Tony holds a party for him and gets Radiohead to come. Tony asks Cap if he likes the music, and Cap responds with a funny, "It's quite interesting. Head Radio, you said?" Later on, at the end of the story, when an off-duty Cap goes camping, he slips the Kid A album into his player.

I like them both about the same, but I'll vote Radiohead because whatever.

Don't really jack about either band but I'm going with Coldplay since Chris Martin was sick on Homecoming by Kanye West.
