@dccomicsrule2011: Well, I couldn't get over the fact that TFA felt too similar to A New Hope in many aspects. As a result, the movie felt largely unoriginal except for boasting a female protagonist.
The hero needs to return a droid with some secret plans from falling to the Empire's hand. Mentor figure dies. They need to destroy a superpower weapon and stuff like that bla blah blah.
Finn and Poe were the only characters I liked. I wish the latter was more on the movie. Rey on the other hand, was a full-blown Mary Sue. Like, she is too good at everything (even the fact she is having a little trouble doesn't mitigate the fact that they still come out on top at the end). Kylo was an edgy crybaby of a villain with no motivation for turning to the Dark Side and comes off as more entitled, whinny than Anakin was in the prequels.
I have not watched the series yet... Though I've seen clips of it.
I haven't played it either, but I do know its a step down from previous games in almost everyway.
