Not really. I mean he comes off as really wimpy, which is fine since he's a kid. It's more realistic that way I suppose, but it's expected for male protagonists to eventually change and be more dynamic or something as a story goes on. He's not exactly weak, but comparing him to the norm certainly makes him come off that way.
Do you thing the Rebuild of Evangelion 4 movie will be a disappointment?
If Anno decides to give more focus on the expansion of the alternate universe and give some more spotlight to the rest of the characters besides Shinji, which I found lacking in Redo then no, it would not disappoint me.
When do you think would the fourth Rebuild movie will be released?
It's hard to say. The projected release date has been pushed back further and further and it was the same for the other films iirc. I think it'd be a miracle if it comes out by the end of 2017.
