Even thought the title of this thread does not include the word, respect, I just want to post my respect for this new series.

I am very happy for MOon Knight to be getting a new series. I'm not a huge fan but I'm glad he is getting another shot.

I've been thinking this for a while now. I reckon that his costume(s) are going to tie into MK's multiple personalities in the new series. Meaning that he'll have three different Moon Knight costumes/vestments, each for Spector, Grant and Lockley. It would also explain that cryptic tweet from Shalvey that I posted a while ago.

The one where he said, if we were apprehensive about the new three piece business suit look. Just wait till #3. Or words there of. That and #2's cover prominently featuring the classic costume. Not to mention the #1 variants, lead to me to think there is a third costume that we haven't seen yet. Also, that I may have missed something that was said in the first interviews that would lend credence to this theory .

So I re-read them and found another statement in a Marvel Q&A session about Moon Knight supporting this theory. -

Marvel.com: What role, if any, does Moon Knight's splintered psyche play? Does he have those personalities under control?

Steve Wacker: Moon Knight’s psyche is at the center of everything, right down to his choice of uniform. You'll see a lot of this set up right in the first issue. But all the classic Moon Knight elements are in place.

So if I have this right. We have Steve Grant in the moon-three piece like in Secret Avengers #19, presumably Spector in the classic and Lockley in ???? Does anyone have speculations on what it may be?

@hit_monkey: this sounds very plausible and also kinda cool but didn't Ellis say he was doing away with the whole dissociative identity disorder thing?

He is still going to have the three identities motif. From what we've all been made privy to so far. That seems to be a definite. What it may mean is there's not going to be the same mental problems that Spector had due to his constant switching of identities in this book.

I speculate that he'll still be switching but he'll not suffer from D.I.D. anymore. I do remember that Ellis did say something like, he's known people who have D.I.D. and they didn't develop it from switching characters for prolonged periods. If that were the case Hollywood would be full of people with the condition. So he's going to clean up that aspect of Moon Knight. Or words to that effect.

So that doesn't rule out the 3 identity shtick. Just the D.I.D. angle?

@hit_monkey: you may be very right sir. MK may not be think that he's Grant or Lockley, but he shall probable take such idenities.

@cyberwarrior: Yeah. He will. If you check the solicitation for #1. It's says that he'll be using three 'personalities' to fight crime. Can't believe I missed that. Couldn't see the wood for the trees it seems hahaha.

That's a pretty compelling theory you've got there. Can't see what benefit he'd get from fighting crime as Jake or Steve, but I'm willing to see where it goes. When I first heard what Bendis' plans were, I almost cried, so this optimism in Ellis' plan is a nice change :)

Found another preview of Moon Knight #1.

It could be poking a couple of holes in my theory though. What with the 'moon-limo' having 'SPEKTR' on it rather than 'GRANT'. That might be looking to much into it. It could just be there to make the limo look more Moon Knighty.

Apparently someone just straight up asked Declan Shalvey what the deal was with Moon Knight's 'vestments' in the new series. Found this while I was going through Shalvey's tumbler looking for more info ect.

Doesn't say anything about a third costume. So I'm kinda doubting my theory now. I think my first thoughts regarding Moon Knight using his Carb armour to fight heavy-hitters is this series, might've been closer to the money. Or it could be that Shalvey doesn't want to spoiler a 3rd Moon Knight costume? Anyway, it's good to have a more concrete answer to all this eh?

@jonny_anonymous: I'm worried that my expectations are getting too high and because of that I might actually be disappointed when it comes out. Hopefully not, but it's still a concern.

Also can't see the benefit of doing his thing in a suit. Hopefully it gets explained and isn't one of those things we just have to accept and move on... like why Marc left NYC and suddenly started seeing Avengers in his head haha

@jonny_anonymous: Emotions I feel at this moment are simliar to the ones Danial has: I'm beging to be afraid to be disappointed.
