Hello! I'm rather new to the whole comic book world and I mostly know about Spider-Man and Batman. I was thinking to read about Deadpool, or even Thor but I don't know where to start either. So what are some good comic book series that I should read and where should I start?

How about a totally new character like Ms. Marvel (Kamala Khan) and/or All New Ghost Rider (Robbie Reyes)? Since they're new character, there's no complicated origins and is easy to follow.

Marvel now's Deadpool. Sandman. Fables. Sweet Tooth. I could give you a million more suggestions but first, what type of comics do you want to read?

you could get thousands of suggestions from others of what they like to read...or you can find out what you're going to like. you said batman and Spiderman interest you..so check out those. the new 52 series batman by scott snyder has been insanely popular. there is also detective comics, which is a batman series, that was recently taken over by a new creative team that is doing very good issues. amazing Spiderman just had a relaunch and should be easy to get caught up. I however prefer ultimate spiderman. try deadpool and thor as well. they both have an ongoing series that is about 30 issues in so you will have to probably find trade paperbacks to get caught up. my final suggestion is to find the creators you like and read what they work on. have fun!!

I really liked buying a 40 years of Amazing Spider-man DVD-Rom when I was new to comics. It has over 500 Spider-man issues and is a great way to start and be able to read in bulk. They're out of print, but you can buy it on E-bay. Considering all of the issues it has, it's pretty cheap.

Getting a Marvel Unlimited Account might also be a good idea because it's a subscription based account and you could go, "Huh, I feel like trying some Deadpool today," and they have full series on their website. It also might be a good idea because you can experiment and try different series until you find one you like.

Hey, symbioticspider-man, nice to meet you, I'm TheDemoGoblin. If you want you get into comments, I suggest you get a MARVEL Unlimited subscription here - http://marvel.com/comics/unlimited, you get, like, 14 000 comics for free if you subscribe there. However, there's a 6 month delay for each issue. But it's a great deal.

The current ones are New Avengers and Avengers are fantastic reads, as well as Ghost RIder and Moon Knight.

But if you want to get something from a few years back - Matt Fractions Invincible Iron Man is fantastic.

We talking just Marvel? Right now Daredevil just started. I think it's into issue 4? So you are not far behind. Ms. Marvel is also only on issue 5 I believe and that's is really heart felt and alot of fun to read. I've heard great things about Hawkeye but I feel I'm so late on that one I have not picked it up yet.

If you want something from other publishers Image Comics has alot of great non super hero options. Wicked + Divine just started and looks promising. Deadly Class is great. Black Science is amazing but well into it's 9th issue? The Trees also just started along with MPH and both look very promising. If you want something grittier try Nailbiter which is a really intense and delicious read. =P
