Marvel Teases AGE OF APOCALYPSE for Summer 2015

We've been seeing a whole lot of strange teasers from Marvel lately. The teasers consist of past story events all slated for Summer 2015. Some appear to be straight images from the original stories while others have slight tweaks added to them.

So far we've seen teasers for SECRET WARS, CIVIL WAR, AGE OF ULTRON VS MARVEL ZOMBIES, YEARS OF FUTURE PAST, PLANET HULK, ARMOR WARS, HOUSE OF M, INFINITY GAUNTLET, OLD MAN LOGAN, INHUMANS: ATTILAN RISING and THE END of the Ultimate Universe. Here's the latest that has sent out.

Any ideas what's going on? Clearly Marvel is not simply retelling all these stories. There's way too many so far. This teaser campaign has also been going on for some time. Rebooting the entire universe, as some have been suggesting, seems unlikely with all the brand new titles slated for early 2015. We would imagine whatever this is about must be something big.

Man, I'm not going to read Marvel so early, the Publisher simply has no more ideas, will live only in the past now?

At this point I just hope they'd get over with it and tell us what they're doing.

It's obviously not retreading of past story lines,hopefully. I'm curious as to why these events share the same name as the well known events of old (or 20 years ago :P).

What? What's wrong with judging something we know nothing about and make snap decisions about it?

This might turn into a large-scale crossover for all those storylines. Like Spider-verse, but for all of Marvel.

It all has to do with time runs out in avengers and new avengers

I don't know why, but I have the feeling it's going to be a Crisis event that's going to "change" the universe, but not "reboot" it.

I thought everybody in the AOA universe was dead?

I mean,if all this are re-prints?!?!?!....

AOA was one of the best X-Men events ever! It was the first story that I bought all of the crossover issues for every title. Not sure what all the teasers mean, but if it means I get new AOA stories I'm in!

Anyone else heard the rumors that they are "what ifs" with a common thread?

What is wrong with Wolverine's arm?

@knightsofdarkness2: The same thing that was wrong with Cyclops' eye, it was the 90s. That said, I can't recall who cut off his arm anymore.

Wow, I just don't care any more. With Civil War, Marvel began the annoying trend of declaring big summer events that amount to nothing, now it seems they've reached critical mass on that front.

They're repeating every event they've ever had, and in the end, it will lead to, SURPRISE: nothing!!!!

Secret Wars tie-ins is what my money is on.

Well it's obviously not a retelling or continuation of AoA as things look different. Still think it's connected to Secret Wars, something about picking people from different universes to fight, etc. Or who knows, maybe this won't be everyone fighting to see which universe is left or joining them into one, but rather all of them working together to save them all and fix it. I think I prefer the latter.

I don't understand why they are retelling stories. Is it for the new audience?

Started sorting X-men collection last weekend and ran thru my AOA stuff, good times and then I remembered that god cursed X-termination event from last year. Why Marvel??? If a marvel universe needs a reboot its AOA.

@knightsofdarkness2: at some point before the AoA storyline started Weapon X (Wolverine) and Prelate Summers (Cyclops) got into a fight that resulted in Cyclops blasting off Wolverine's hand and Wolverine cutting out Cyclop's eye

@danhimself: Why didn't Wolverine regenerate his arm since he has a healing factor?

I call foul, the Age of Apcalypse got wiped out during the X-Termination crossover.

that's what I don't get....we know nothing other than these teaser images and people are all jumping to conclusions and saying stuff like they're retelling all of these stories or that they're rebooting...we don't know that...let them release some actual information first

@knightsofdarkness2: here's a theory. If Prelate Summers optic blast was strong/hot enough to burn/break Adimantium it's possible it was also hot enough to cauterize the Adimantium bone making it so Weapon X's actual bone skeleton couldn't grow through the metal./end theory.

@mangakid1995: I doubt it would be that hot at all but nice theory.

Hmmm... another alternate universe where Wolverine isn't an adamantium garden statue. I say go for it.

I've been saying this in just about every Marvel teaser article since Civil War. People just prefer complaining and jumping to conclusion rather than think logically.
