Poll Would you like to see DC and Marvel merge? (46 votes)

YES 13%
NO 83%

I personally would love it. I just got back into comics last summer and I really love both companies. I read batman more then anything though. Forgive me if this is some unwritten rule.

I've seen it already when the big two did that Amalgam crossover back in the 90's. The DC vs Marvel event was cool because it was short, but it also led to a lot of bickering over the match outcomes, and this was in an age before everyone was on the internet. I like them separate and doing their own thing. I just think they need to tighten up their respective universes and stop the annual universe-shattering events.

my answer is yes and no. I wouldn't mind seeing a really smart one off series. or a direct to DVD series of like 5-10 movies done really smart.

But no to a overall unified permanent universe. I simply don't like DC's style enough and don't think it would mix well with Marvel. For example Batman is a poorly written character. What I mean is I don't wanna see every Marvel hero purposely written down or start jobbing just so Batman can appear relevant in a World of supers like how the DCU is written. When ever Batman comes around DC turns everyone else into idiots so Batman appears relevant. It's ridiculous. But that's just one example. there's a lot of things I don't like about DC.

@Penguin-Dust: I don't want a merger, but another crossover a la JLA/Avengers would be cool. Especially now, since DC appears to be crossing over with everyone lately.

Not outside of non-canon crossovers.

I thought about that. I wouldn't be opposed to a handful of single character or duo crossovers that lasted no more than three or four issues. The set up is always the problem, although I guess they could resurrect the Access character again who moves freely between the two universes. The Amalgam universe was a strange fish which I believe is best left to the past with the exception of Doctor Strangefate. That dude was cool.

No. I like crossovers but merging is a different animal entirely.

  • I wish...That X-Station idea sounds awesome..Mainly becuase the merging of Technology products works a little different and they sorta lend themselves to being upgraded and merged...The PS4 and X-Box One arent that different from each other...A Microsoft Laptop and a Apple Computer have less in common.
  • Comics on the other hand are alot more unique because there character driven stories....Marvel has a certain vibe that they have been maintaining since the 60s(When they established their uniqueness)...The same goes for DC 1940s onward...Merging them strips both companies of there identity and makes the world slightly more grey and colorless..A truly awful idea...Which is why i think the NFL and NBA comparison works so well.

I wouldn't mind occasional crossover, but overall they should remain as separate universes.

Yes but not permanently just more frequent interaction would be cool

I thoroughly enjoyed all the one shots like batman Spider-Man and so on

Regardless of poor writing and plots they were fun

No. They're better as separate companies.

No, monopoly would give them freedom to do whatever they want, and with new52 and All-New, All-Different Marvel we saw that they can have terrible ideas.

I'd rather they remain separate. I'd like them to crossover and work together more. We need a Marvel Vs DC game. You know how Marvel had that one off Thor short video? I'd like to see one of Those with Superman & Thor..just doing shit, just for fun. I'd welcome a nice crossover event, but nothing permanent.

Done properly it would be amazing but it's unlikely that would ever happen. So many characters get lost in the shuffle as it is, imagine how often you'd see people like Blue Devil ect..?

They have tried merged stories and universes before, with mixed results. The JLA/Avengers is hands down my favourite intercompany crossover though
