So, did the protesters offer an alternative super heroine representative? Supergirl and Batgirl are feminine versions of their original male counterparts. Black Widow was an assassin, Storm a thief and gang leader, and Pheonix a mass murderer. Let's not forget Mystique's checked past, plus the fact that she's always running around naked. Power Girl would probably piss them off more that Wonder Woman. There's an old quote, "if you look for the bad in people, you surely will find it."

Wonder Woman is THE most recognizable female super hero, and is supposed to known (I don't know if she actually is widely known in the non comics world for this) for her tolerance and peace bringing mission. Sounds like a good idea for a mascot to me.

I was gonna post a comment until I saw this at the last second.

I can sort of see what they are mad about, but at the same time I think they are focusing too much on WW and not the fact that they think they should actually have an ambassador for women (which is stupid considering not all women are the same). This is more of a symbol then a actual thing, and people taking it way too seriously.

I need to make a "What the **** did I do" Wonder Woman meme...... I understand why people would be upset over they fact that they didn't have a real human female, but Wonder Woman didn't make that choice. Don't blame her.......

First things first, wow, Lynda Carter has aged well

Second, This is disgusting, not only because of the disrespect it shows to Wonder Woman as a character, but also as an American icon. Whether people want to admit it or not, comic heroes are milestones of our culture, and a wonderful modern representation of preserving good ideals. So as an American, I actually do find this kind of offensive, and that's something I rarely say about sh!t I see in the internet.
