I agree, don't get me wrong Will has talent and he's a well known household name so that should draw the attention for people. But you know, I guess they have the "diversity" thing.. I mean, always gotta have at least one non white actor in a movie so the racist card ain't pulled out..

@leo-343: In regards to the whole "diversity" thing, I mean, I'm okay with it, but if the casting was done for the whole purpose of not being called racist then well.. That aside, he was chosen for some reason that made him stand out. Be it his known name or whatever. I guess I'll just wait to see how he maintains this serious role.

Also, I gotta agree though about the comedy role thing. Although I do remember his role in I am Legend to be mostly serious if it's worth anything.

I hope that half of the DCCU casting end up being a "Everyone hates it, then when its released they love it" thing as well. Particularly I'm gonna try to see how Gadot turns out to be.

My issue with him is that he can't rock the Epic 'Stache

I'm 100% ok with this casting choice. I am more interested in seeing Jared Leto as Joker as I think it will be an epic fail as much as I like Jared Leto.

I know he can act. I've already said that. As Leo already mentioned, I see him more as a comedy actor but that doesn't mean that he hasn't had his fair share of serious roles as well.

I'' give her the benefit of doubt.. but her Fast scenes are all I needed to see.. actually, depending on how big her BvS role is, then that's all we need to see to know how good.. or more then likely bad, she'll be as Wonder Woman.

You all seem to be under the impression that we're getting a faithful adaptation. I personally don't believe this movie(or any of the DC films) will stay true to the source material. So I don't think it matters who gets cast as Deadshot, because we're not getting an authentic version of him anyway. I'm sure Will is a great choice for the Deadshot they're creating.

He's a great actor, has been nominated for an Academy award, is charasmatic, funny and is great in action flicks. Why SHOULDN'T he be Floyd?? And his ego isn't nearly as big as some make it out to be.

No, but seriously, I'm always a hug advocate of keeping the character as close to the source material as possible, down to the skin color, so yeah. However for Deadshot, he's not really a huge main character, plus he almost always has his mask on, so it's not THAT big of a deal.
