Will Luke Skywalker in Episode 8 be as powerful as grandmaster Luke from legends?

Nope, EU Grandmaster Luke Skywalker is like above comic Iron Man if my powerscaling in the Battle Forums is correct.

No movie appearance only of Star Wars characters is gonna top that.

There's no way GM Luke would even be allowed to be in the movies. I can see him being Yoda level though.

How powerful is GM Luke from Legends?

He can take a direct hit from any Force Lightning intensity and brush it off like it was nothing. He's powerful enough to wrestle Abeloth without a lightsaber and with only his force power, a being more powerful than the Emperor, he can rip open black holes and hold them with the force, he coult telekinetically lift Darth Vader's Coruscant tower and throw it into the northern seas of the planet (a skyscraper sized building and second largest structure save for Palapatine's Palace), he could manipulate the minds of thousands upon thousands of beings with Battle Meditation, he could physically transform his wife's starship to camouflage it from the naked eye. He could wield the dark side like it was nothing and without risk of turning.

He is the most powerful Jedi in EU, hell the most powerful being. He became One with the Force during the Vong War and he was seen by his niece and nephew in the final battle as though he was wielding 30 to 100 lightsabers.

EU logic. Novels and comics have far more freedom to enhance his powers and since George Lucas established that Luke was the most powerful Jedi ever, his writers in the novels during the 90's made him progressively more powerful as he was the only Jedi in the galaxy and trained every new member of the New Jedi Order save for Mara Jade, his wife and Kyle Katarn who was self taught. His only rivals (none could succeed him) were Jacen Solo/Darth Caedus (second most powerful being next to Luke), Jaina Solo, Mara Jade and Kyle Katarn.

No he won't be, and honestly it would be pretty stupid if he was. It'd ruin the movie.

More than likely not in the movies no, probably not in the New EU either since it's so watered down compared to Legends.

With Disney you never know. I mean if he's too powerful then they're gonna have to plot explain as to why he went into hiding and didn't crush the new villains. I'm guessing no though...but the House of Mouse can be tricky...
