Will Batman v. Superman be better than The Dark Knight?

LOL
Prblm m8?
It's difficult to answer this question without having it be clarified what you mean by "better." Dawn of Justice could be more epic and entertaining, while The Dark Knight is more tightly written and thought provoking. It all depends on your definition of the term.
At the end of the day, both of them will try and achieve different things. I love TDK, I regard it as one of the finest modern films, so in that aspect, Batman v Superman will not beat it. But I would be lying if I said that I won't be more ENTERTAINED by BvS, given The Dark Knight's first half is mostly a slow burn.
Hell, as mixed as I am about Man of Steel, it is one of my most viewed superhero movies. There, I said it. My stance on that movie is probably the most everchanging and it's all the more interesting because of that.
In the end of the day; The Dark Knight is most influential, Batman v Superman is most entertaining if executed right.
@saintwildcard: "It will be a more epic film with better action."
If I had to sum it up in a sentence, this is how I would say it.
Especially since as good as The Dark Knight is (which is great, I stand by my opinion) the action sequences are bland.
Watching Batman and Superman duke it out will be epic.
It's a possibility that it could, seeing now that Snyder finally made Batman more of a combatant. While Nolan did a good job with the Dark Knight trilogy, he made his Batman fight more like Steven Seagal (past his prime, maybe) as a masked vigilante.
@linsanel_doctor: "WW, Superman, and Batman fighting in the same movie puts it over TDK anyday imo"
Depends on which respect, though. You can have the biggest comic book names fighting together and still not outmatch the intensity, character development and filmmaking of The Dark Knight.
That's why I find this question a bit hard to answer. It's difficult to answer when I can't ascertaine what he means by best.
And it really depends on what you define by best. I mean, The Dark Knight is the most well made superhero movie IMO, but Deadpool although much simpler and intentionally shallow... Is the most movie I enjoyed watching. Therefore which one should I call the best CBM? I'm so confused!
Saint go take your Ritalin.
@theamazingspidey: How would you compare Deadpool with TDK?
Nevermind, you already brought that up in your comment earlier.. haha.... good one.
@linsanel_doctor: "How would you compare Deadpool with TDK?"
You are right! How dare I? The Dark Knight is a crappy sitcom, TV movie but Deadpool is a masterpiece of film!
This question just highlights the difference in the mentalities of those who like DC and MARVEL mainstream and those who prefer 'Independent' if you ask me. These two groups are just mostly not on the same wavelength.
To me this is like saying that Superman:Truth, for example, is as good or better than All-Star Superman. It's just, well....laughable.
I'm thinking right now it's safe to say the action scenes and cinematography will be better...As far as story and acting, that remains to be seen.
I can say with 99% certainty that nobody in the cast will be able to come close to Ledger's performance.
Story wise could be but character wise no...even Nolan couldn't top his own movie and TDKR didn't get that much appreciation..although Terrio is a Oscar winner but that level of character development...probably not...

Yeah, with this Batman I literally feel like I'm playing the Arkham series
I wouldn't be surprised if Snyder used the games as inspiration, which I think it would be cool if he did.
I will say No for now... I'm not being pessimistic but BvS will be legendary and will be remember unlike the other superhero movies.
HOnestly, just speaking for me personally, there are a few movies I prefer over TDK. MoS being one of them. I get why people love it, but honestly the only interesting thing in the movie was the JOker, Everything else was alright.

I wouldn´t go that far (about cinematography), TDK was even nominated for best cinematography in the Academy (some would care, some other won´t)
I would dare to say that this is still the best cbm (cinematography-wise) , Larry Fong is good too, but I feel like Watchmen was very cgi-esque looking for some reason , not that I dislike it, but that´s my opinion
maybe just a matter of taste
Heres a list of things that would be less surprising to me than Batman vs Superman being a better film than The Dark Knight:
Any Religion being confirmed as true.
Stevie Wonder picking a suspect from a police line up.
The Earth actually being flat.
Katy Perry turning up on my doorstep begging me for sex.
Ben Afleck pulling his foreskin over his head.
@thesilentripper: Something tells me he doesn't know what cinematography is lol.
The thing about film quality is... it's all in your head.
But TDK has become one of movies you have to like in polite society. Bandwagons don't die overnight.
I don`t see it but I do see the difference when it comes to the movies one is more contemporary while the other is more comic-booky depending on what you like your expectations could determine what the term "better" means.
Besides Batfleck. BvS cast leaves a lot to be desired. Henry Cav is one of the most wooden actors in CBM's, Jessie Crysenburg need I say more, Gal Gadot? This topic makes me laugh. Will this movie be entertaining and a spectacle? Yes. Will it be anywhere near as well acted and directed? No. Snyder doesn't have the ability to make a truly deep film. For those that think he does just watch Suckerpunch. He's not a terrible director but most of his success has come from others ideas. Dawn of the Dead George Romero, 300 Frank Miller, Watchmen Alan Moore. His most original film was Suckerpunch and that's not something to be proud of.
@nite_nite: You should never say that again.
