Why is the JLA so weak??

I mean Grant Morrison's. I am on issue #10 and extremely unimpressed. Wonder Woman with the speed of mercury is mach 3, she can't breathe in space and her durability is garbage. An exploding car almost killed Martian hunter, Green Lantern destroyed white martians with 10 ton green constructs, etc. The white martians that beat the JLA at first are only mountain busters according to their leader's statements. So every member of the JLA = mountain busters, except Flash? Flash seems really broken, his speed is really impressive and so far PIS has been his only obstacle. Aquaman is pretty cool, he can give people seizures by screwing with mammal organs and blood flow, so he's broken too.

When the white martians were going to broadcast the JLA's execution, it was going to be done through a lotus of weapons... knives and needles. So they can be hurt by weak attacks like that? Not even Superman, the blue one at least, can breathe in space. Half of them were terrified of falling to Earth and it killed Metamorpho, meaning they can't even tank falling from orbit. Do they get stronger? Why are they so weak at the start?

Still stronger than the Avengers, lel.

inconsistency is the bread and butter of comics.

i mean not have to breathe in space, wonder women held her breath, and needs an oxygen mask for prlonged exposure, which is unlike other post crisis appearances, same with supermans

Pretty sure those last 2 have never been members of the Avengers.

And yeah, the Avengers have Thor... the initial JLA feature 5 people who could put up a very good fight if not beat him... plus they have Batman to work out the tactics and find the weak spots.

From what I know neither Norrin nor Runner have been Avengers, also Morrison's JLA is one of the most powerful incarnations

Thor is a monster. He would beat Hulk, Superman and Wonder Women in one go.
