Why is Logan so dark and depressing?

What about the kids? Isn't Marvel supposed to be light-hearted and kid friendly?

Most of Wolverine's source material is dark and depressing. It fits.

Its an R-rated movie, the kids that do go see it don't wanna see childfriendly stuff.

Did you read the comic? Some parts of it almost made me tear up. If the movie isn't dark and depressing then it's a failure.

Marvel can make dark and depressing, just look at the Netflix stuff. Besides, as others have said above, this is FOX and after the runaway success of Deadpool, Rated-R superhero movies are the new hotness.

I see what you're trying to do, but it's being made by FOX.

Well deal with it. The MCU is about balance where necessary, whether it be in the films or TV. Fox is about R-rated goodness and I wouldn't have it any other way.

If you think Logan is so dark and depressing, you have not seen much cinema. It is little bit Sad but not really depressing but yes marvel could make some depressing movies. They have incredibly talented actors and the stories.

Wandavision, Falcon, Endgame had potential but Marvel is too afraid
