Haven't seen anybody excited for BP movie or anybody that knows who he is actually. But if you have seen these "black" people excited for him to be on the big screen then it should be common sense why. He looks similar to them.

As for race. Why am I not surprised youknowwho is on the thread. Aka MrIHateDiversityinComics. Race is a big deal because America was founded and created via racism. It was deeply incorporated into all aspects of life here including comics, and now some companies are trying to change that*marvel*and some are still pandering to their 1950s crowd *DC*

Are you being serious?

@theexile285: I got an embarrassing Black Panther question.

What is his moral compass? Is he...

  • No killing like Batman,
  • Kill when necessary
  • Or Kill them all like Punisher

The Black Community is excited for Black Panther because we finally have a Black SuperHero in the Ranks among other Caucasian heroes.

@never_give_up: Got a question. I never read much about Black Panther, so I was wondering,

What is his moral compass

Does he kill or not kill or kill only when necessary?

I wouldn't compare him to the Punisher. Punisher is EXTREME lol. Black Panther isn't afraid of taking a life. He doesn't have this idea he'll be "corrupted" like Batman.

In the future you can read bios on CV.

All in all Black Panther is a cool character. There's even a motion comic which had some association with BET, it can be found on YouTube.

@never_give_up: Thanks, I seen him in all the Avenger cartoons, but never read anything about him.

I've always respected him, just never collected him. I hope the movie does him justice.

I just like Black Panther because he's a cool character... real shame we can't have Storm in the MCU.

I just hope they don't make Wakandans seem like smug pricks living in a Utopia as the comics do sometimes.

I'm black and I think Black Panther is a pretty dern boring character. Could care less about his movie.

Now I'd love to see a Blade reboot and maybe even a Blue Marvel movie.

Blade's movies (not counting 3) are what really put comic movies back on the map. Especially Marvel.

@moul: ehh David Walker is giving us Cyborg. I always tell people to go read his interviews about the series before it was released. He pretty much says what's in "black" america's mind when it comes to things like comics- the few of us actually investing time in them. That really gave me hope, now he's doing for Vic what Mcduffie did for Vixen, giving us the best written story of these characters ever. DC can't be given credit for something they've continually screwed up when the right person comes along and fixes it. In fact I'm sure editorial is going to try something to enrage us when it comes to cyborg down the line.

I am black and quite frankly I am just looking forward to the movie because BP is one of my favorite characters (and no not because he's African). He has a nice backstory and really good feats. But unfortunately Black Panther hardly got any limelight. (Though he was handled nicely in Avengers EMH). It's cool to finally see him make the big screen. I just hope they don't f&%k him up.

The way I see it a character shouldn't need to be defined primarily by shallow physical characteristics like ethnicity. I could care less if BP was white, asian, indian, etc. What matters is the story, what the character has gone through, their relationships, how they carry their burdens. These are the issues that cover all ethnic groups, cultures, and sexual orientations. Properly written characters speak for themselves. But hey that's just my 2 cents.

@renny: I just wanted to see Namor rip him in half, since it's been long overdue. A king and inventor can only be arrogant for so long, in the face of a person who has fought the Hulk, and outclasses you in the durability, strength, and fighting factors.

Because it's probably gonna be more influential than other African American movies not to mention Superhero genre. That's because this is the MCU and it's probably gonna have a bigger impact than other superhero movies cause it's well the MCU. I myself am African and I'm excited to see the movie.

OP are you white?

White people are everywhere in TV and movies.

Also the guy who directed Fruitvale Station and Creed is directing it.

So I'm pumped why do you care that people are happy...

Some white people can be culturally insensitive, and they ask stupid ass questions like this.

I can feel a race debate waiting to erupt.

Why you may ask? because 90% of comicbook heroes are white males, and its a white dominated industry. Growing up back in the day,and even now a lot of Black kids didn't have heroes that looked like them or that they could culturally relate too.Nothing but Superman,Batman and any other All

I've seen plenty of white and black people have tears of joy seeing Batman, Superman or wonder woman in a trailer. Why is it such a big deal that people are happy to see BP in a trailer? Let people enjoy what they enjoy, end of story.

Exactly. People can cry for their own personal reasons. I have seen reactions from people who just don't read ANY comics, and don't even know who Black Panther is, until they saw Captain America: Civil War. Those folks may not realize that Blade was the first SERIOUS superhero movie with a Black main character.

Or, maybe the OP just doesn't know or understand things outside his own culture's POV.
