They were so nerfed in the movies it's really not funny i'm sure that's not what we are expected
for example: mcu thor, hulk, fox iceman, Dr Doom
can you explain why?
and any suggestion?
It makes sense, comics have been upping the scale for decades and movies start with a clean slate that allows them to bring it to a more manageable level. People already make jokes about how useless some of the characters without powers are, even more so if they where at comic book levels.
Also far cheaper and requires less CGI and less location shots if you keep the scale lower.
The suggestion is to not go into this looking for the exact same character.
@werkudoro: Yeah they shouldn't have been nerfed in the movies :-(
I don't think as many as we make seem are nerfed. I just think CV has an over-inflated view of most comic book character's abilities, and base them off of decades of inconsistent scenes, while only viewing the best stuff from them.
I'd say most cinematic characters are pretty much par for the course.
Feats don't make the story. Seems most people on here can't wrap their heads around that. Plus some stuff doesn't translate well to film.
@werkudoro: Marvel much? You fergot supes martian manhunter and diana etc.
Writers and producers think the general public is too stupid and can't relate to a super hero. Screw anyone from 1935-1999 who enjoyed the absurd stories and still kept reading and buying comic book merch. This is why superman was nerfed, to be more well related to by the general masses who will go to a superman movie and see him lift a continent into space and someone will actually say in the theater "That's stupid, no man can do that."
I swear to god, someone said that in the theater out loud during Superman Returns on opening night.

Because high end feats aren't necessary for most of the MCU stories thus far, and handing them out needlessly would only give certain characters an air of invulnerability that would make creating credible antagonists more difficult.
Because comic characters are OP.
You seem very committed! Always, mostly, sometimes,...okay maybe a few instances. lol
I think it's way better. Unless they increase the drama or help with characterizations, I find superpowers uninteresting. Spider-man is an incredibly powerful character, but they're perfectly balanced and work wonders for story-telling.
I think Dr. Manhattan worked wonderfully because he's only in one standalone story, and Watchmen isn't about boring meathead fights. Unfortunately, the movie wasn't very good in my opinion.
