Lee is probably the most influential..best is hard to say. Little too subjective. At peak value, nobody tops Moore for me. Miller was also great at his peak. Waid and Snyder have been more consistent. Some guys are also so much better with some books than others. Marv Wolfman..mediocre Batman run..mediocre Spider-man run. GREAT on the Teen Titans. Bill Willingham...Fables is like about the best thing ever...but his other stuff does nothing for me. Gun to head, told to pick one..I'd take Moore.

Abnett & Lanning were a great duo and so were those two fellows who created Super man, Steve Ditko, Lee Falk, Herge, Carl Barks, Al Taliafferro... There's so many really influential comic writers that its a bit hard to choose the 'best' but Stan 'the man' Lee is probably one of the most influential still alive today.

Jeph loeb and Rob Liefeld are the best.
