Who Are the Most Iconic Sidekicks in History?

Throughout the history of entertainment, there's been a lot of memorable heroes and villains, but what motivates those people to do their job of saving or ruining the day? Obviously it's the sidekicks. Many great characters have sidekicks, but who are the most iconic ones? Batman and Robin by a land slide. When people talk about team ups an partners you will always hear Batman and Robin.

Robin and Scooby (who isn't even on the list). I wouldn't consider Buzz a sidekick to Woody at all.

I agree, though I'd put Luigi up there is well. after all they are called the Super Mario Brothers. Robin and Luigi for top pick.

It's Robin, his name is honestly synonymous with sidekick at this point.

Like others said, Buzz wasn't really a sidekick, more like a co-pilot. He had his own cartoon show. To some people he's more popular than Woody.

@idontlikebirds: I agree many of these characters are not side kicks. How is agent j from MIB a side kick? When's he's played by the bigger star? Buzz isn't a sidekick either. Really Sam isn't a sidekick, Lugui and Mario are brothers that's not a sidekick.

Lol Yeah, well most of these choices seem to be here less for the "iconic" status and more so for simply their popularity. And then there are some that are just random.

As for Bucky's iconic status, while I can't say he's iconic in the same way that Robin is, Bucky does play a huge role on Marvel's reasoning behind why we don't see teenage sidekicks in the MU like we do in DC. So even if he isn't as well known, Bucky still had a huge impact on the Marvel Universe and in my opinion makes him more iconic than some of the characters on this list.
