As we should all know, trailers have been made for all three (although some haven't seen them yet). They are all no doubt going to be box-office hits next year, but which one is going to come out on top?
Nolan's Batman films haven't let down critics and audiences yet, and TDK had the highest opening release until just a few days ago.
Marvel Studios has made box-office winners out of Thor and Iron Man. Will having both in one movie, plus Cap, Hulk, and the rest of the Avengers increase their odds?
Spider-Man is Marvel's flagship character. Will that, plus their gritty take on the character put butts in the seat?
Or, just thought of it now, will Superman surprise us all?
Which movie is going to make the most cash?
TDKR will be the best one, but Avengers will make more money.
Since, Nolan is to hard for many people, dont ask me, there is a huge number of Nolan Haters.
the Dark knight was the highest grossing superhero movie of all time, people are going to want to go see its sequel, i'm giving it to TDKR with Avengers a close second
The Dark Knight Rises. I say this because Avengers, while it will make money, has a lot of skepticism to its quality behind it, while I'm sure everyone is more then ready to accept the Dark Knight to be good.
I hope the Avengers is very successful but the safe bet is that Batman is going to make more money cause its batman
The Dark Knight Rises, easily. The Avengers contains a bunch of heroes that still don't have the appeal of Batman, and has an American Nationalist icon which limits its likability in many countries. On top of that, the Avengers' preceding films do not have the critical success of Begins and the Dark Knight, nor are they good films for people looking at movies with more substance. The Avengers will be a big budget movie with lots of explosions, funny moments, some amusing character scenes and a few great battles. That's it. Marvel Studios provide shallow entertainment, Nolan's Batverse doesn't.
TDKR. Even non-comic fans jump on the Batman bandwagon. He is the safe way Joe average can be a geek without losing "street credibility. "

While I agree with some of what you write here I think it is worth pointing out that Iron Man was a bigger critical success than Batman Begins, and is on par with The Dark Knight according to Rotten Tomatoes.
Percent of Critics in Favour
- Iron Man - 94%
- The Dark Knight - 94%
- Batman Begins - 84%

Avengers is looking crappier and crappier. Dark Knight has a WAY bigger fan base (a lot more non-comic fans know about Dark Knight rather than the Avengers).
Edit: I'm stupid, I should've put Man of Steel in the poll too.
I prefer Begins to both@FadeToBlackBolt said:

after the ridiculous amounts of money that TDK made how can you not expect Rises to blow the other comic films out of the proverbial water.Did'nt help GL though.
I honestly think a single well done Ironman movie can be a bigger success than a well done Avengers.
