Which hero would make the greatest villain and which villain would make the greatest hero if they were to switch roles.

Provide your suggestions for each comic brand and overall.

(option but would help) Include what would make them great at it and who could be their new archenemy( if the old didn't switch role)

Batman would be a great villain as he is a hero and Joker would be a good hero as he is a villain.

@ImmortalT1000: I was thinking the same thing, but I found it hard to see joker as hero.

@justice teen: Thats why I picked Joker, just cause it would be so interesting to see what he'd be like.

Joker would make a terrible hero.

  • No mass-murdering people for fun
  • No jokes about death and misery
  • No elaborate schemes to escape Arkham Asylum
  • No physical & emotional torture for Batman
  • No insanity
  • No Joker

Sincerely,

@Jokergeist: Got a point. The closes they can come to making him a hero is a dead pool personality version, but I'm sure some down he line he will go back to his old ways.

Batman works either way. His dark persona actually fits the villain title. Joker, however, can only be a villain.

Wonder Woman would be a graet villain. Strong, smart, imposing and is always in the front line.

Ra's Al Ghul would make a great hero. Arguably he already has the ideals to be one.

Lex Luthor wouldn't really be a good hero.

Evil Superman already exists. His name is Ultraman

Doom would be amazing. I would think Superman, but evil superman shouts more dictator than villain most of the time.

This guy agrees with you in that regard.

On topic, Spider-Man, if given proper motivation, and sufficient resources, could be a fantastic villain. Have him take the path by way of the What if comic where he trains his spider-sense to pick up on people literally before they even think about hurting him, use that training to take away his morals, from there have him realize he could do so much more, and have him take on Hydra, A.I.M., and any other covert organization, killing their leaders and uniting them under his banner to use their resources to 'improve' the world. Take into account Hydra's genetic weapons programs, no reason Spidey can't amp his powers further. Boom, you now have the Spider, one of the most lethal villains on the face of the Earth.

Marvel: Magneto & Spiderman

DC: Lex Luthor & Wonder Woman

I could see Harley realizing that Joker is really insane, and become a part of the Bat family. And im pretty sure if Peter lost Aunt May he would go beserk and become darker, more menaing, anti-hero.

this

also I think Luthor and Joker would make great heroes to counter balance Bat and Supes if they went rogue

although there already existed such versions in the Earth 2, but they were killed by the Earth 2 hero doppelgangers taht are evil

Joker and Spiderman would be terrible if they switched alignments. Joker can't work long term because the core of his character is being a sadist. Spiderman could work as a villain but he'd be lame as all hell and not a very popular villain imo. Their core characters are too engrained in their alignment to flip imo.

Wonder Woman as a villain is one of the best ideas I've heard in a long time, she could be a huge physical threat while flirting with Supes and Bats messing with their heads would be pretty great.

I think Ironman would make a great villain since he already has the ego and character flaws to hop right over that line with ease. I think Storm and Wolverine would both make for a cool villains because if they snapped and cut loose it'd be hard as hell to bring either of them down especially Wolvie.

I think Two-Face could make for an interesting anti-hero. Flip the coin to see if he's going to play the boy scout and turn the bad guys over to the proper authorities or go Dirty Harry and just shoot them in the face. Rescue the hostages or chase after the fleeing bad guy? Flip the coin. Play around a bit with the idea of how responsible for being a hero he is and how much is just the coin.
