When you disregard what the comic says, you get laughed at by those who read it. The problem is that the majority didn't read it, but are still listening to the incessant ramblings of the few power users who didn't read Final Crisis to know better. What they don't yet realize is that most who read it are aware of how big of a joke these users really are and that their bias is brighter than a super nova on the subject of these two characters. They'll lie right to your face and tell you this stuff wasn't in Final Crisis. They insist it never happened that way.
