What makes Young justice overshadow Teen Titans so much in this generation?

Whenever Internet forms in YouTube videos pop in regarding superhero shows, none match the sheer amount of attention and general audience devotion that is the Young Justice animated series. what exactly makes the show so charismatic for this generation given the fact Teen Titans now only lasted longer via four years but had been in prominence when the Internet was rising in comparison to the copyright heavy environment today that's Young Justice apparently has no problem against?

Teen Titans never really got it's final season, but it also didn't leave off on a massive cliffhanger like Young Justice, where Wally disappeared into the Speed Force to save his mentor and we see Darksied enter the picture for the first time. The general feeling is we didn't get enough time with these characters, especially since Season 2 was a massive flood of interesting characters that never got enough screen time.

So people tend to be more upset that Young Justice was cancelled and thus talk about it more.

Probably the animation style or that YJ is more recent.

I'd say it's because Young Justice is more contemporary like the above posts said.

I can think of a few different reasons (and keep in mind that I'm a big fan of both these shows).

1. The animation was a bit better. Titans wasn't bad but YJ was less stylized and was easier to approach.

2. There was a lot more over mystery and drama in YJ than in TT. TT certainly had plenty but each season had it's own ongoing story that would pop up every few episodes and end in a big two to three parter, while with YJ the big overall plot rarely had any breaks in the story between episodes, so what was going on was continuously being built upon.

3. There was a lot more romance between the character and that includes onscreen romance. As much as people like Robin and Starfire or Beast Boy and Raven, all that we ever really got to see of them was moments of connections. Moments of things hinting at what COULD happen later. We never got to see any of the characters in actual romantic relationships with each other. In fact the series ended when Robin and Starfire got together. Whereas with Young Justice you get to see the characters hook up and all the drama and character interactions that come from them being together or breaking apart from each other. Wally's passing into the speed force wouldn't have been nearly as tragic if he and Artemis were maybe thinking about getting together. No, Artemis loses Wally, her boyfriend and the person she's developed a real emotional connection with. That is tragic. Besides, this is the internet age. This show was made for ship pairings.

4. Both shows also had slightly different tones. Teen Titans was a serious show that knew when to have some funny moments mixed in or even just a straight up goofy episode, like with Mad Mod or the space tofu. Young Justice is pretty much just straight forwardly serious, with most comedy tending to be an occasional funny quip or one-liner. Young Justice is actually more like a soap opera than a traditional superhero show like Teen Titans.

5. Much bigger cast for Young Justice, as Teen Titans was mostly just restricted to the main 5. some people probably got their first introductions to characters like Miss Martian, Blue Beetle, and Impulse the same way a lot of people were first introduced to Starfire, Raven, and Cyborg, so it holds a special place in their hearts. Not to mention that, with the exception of season 4 with Trigon, most of what the Titans did never really stretched past their city or members of the team. While such in Young Justice they tended to be all over the world and effect a lot of other things in the DC universe. Basically the world of Young Justice felt a lot bigger and thus had a lot more going on.

All this being said, I still do really like Teen Titans and still think it holds up. If Young Justice is better than Teen Titans in some ways, I consider that a good thing, considering YJ came out years later. It's good that superhero shows can get better over time as long as some actual effort is put into them.

Because YJ was a general DC universe show with a bunch of young characters. If TT had Batman,Supetman and all those villains that YJ used the story would be entirely different.

It doesn't. You can barely even compare them. Aside from the characters and some common themes in a few episodes, they're two completely different shows. Different story approach, different animation style (not art style, animation style), different characterization, different target audience, the list goes on.

The only reason YJ seems more talked about, other than the obvious one being that it's more recent, is because the avenues for discussing such things now were not nearly as prominent or even existent at the time when Teen Titans first aired.

Teen Titans was never on tv. Young Justice was as it's more recent. I didn't know what TT was until I searched them up.

@kidrobin1996: Teen Titans was good but it had many bad points whereas Young Justice was solid from start to finish.

We never got that in Australia, in standard tv. You have to buy foxtel to watch the Aus version of CN to watch those shows. Our cartoon channels are kinda spread out here and there like ABC is the childish shows and TEN or NBN/GO has the more serious cartoons like Young Justice which is pretty much the only cartoon I watched on tv.

Nope, compared to TT, definitely not. They just had more characters.

Nope

Yeah, having Batman, Superman and pretty much all characters that have nothing to do with YJ does help

Yup
