's mom talked me into it.
What made you become a member of Comicvine?
When I tried to find information on Wendy Witch I found this website and found nothing. After looking for info Archie Sonic the Hedgehog, several manga characters and even including Archie I felt worried and obligated to give my two cents. It was kind of unsettling for that information was not there in website suppose to have that kind of information.
I read a series that most ignored and will be forgotten Et. cetera. I felt that it was unappreciated. What if another series was forgotten like that? After a while deviant art I thought that most of the fan art was being bias, had hatred for specific character for the wrong reasons and not knowing the character at all even if they like the character. Instead of ranting I just fill information I knew then I decided to chat in the forums to give my insight and to see if I could have been wrong.
I joined May 2012 but I sorta forget the exact reason. Well first and foremost it was because Marvel Trading Card Game for PSP got me casually interested in comics, and because I really like japanese cheesecake and as a result western art started to appeal to me as well. I think I figured that joining giant bomb was a good way to learn more about the comic universes and comics in general... and I was right.
so really I suppose it marked a phase of my gradual interest in comics, rather than being an active comics fan looking for a forum to post on. I don't think I post a lot but I posted even less at first because I knew that I knew nothing.
of course, being on giantbomb helped because thats how I found out about comicvine to begin with.. the fact this site is advertised on giant bomb (and is similar to giant bomb)
I was on the dc forums for many years and did try the new facebook feature but not many people were there, so i tried bleedingcool and comicvine forums.
I would always type battles in on google between random characters and Comic Vine would always be the site that shows up first.
The last battle form site I was on was filled with too much wank. I came here....only to find wally west has transcended wank. But I've come to accept that no matter where I go there will be wank and there will be downplaying so might as well stay here where I can at least get a good laugh about it
I was looking for that YouTube vid of hulk vs superman. I stumbled on to this site and was appalled with the amount of dudes saying
"Angrier he gets, the stronger he gets"
I signed up because I wanted to save the world from people who use arguments like that in a supes vs hulk thread.....and then...came the rules
(Cues dark themed music)
PIS,CIS and WIS
Trolling
Mismatches or spite
No swearing
Feats, no statements<<<<<<this is why I love and hate this site. Feats keep us more knowledgeable and in line with our facts. But it also de powers out most liked characters.
researching interesting fight scenarios that came up on other forums and seeing ridiculous threads years ago like Maul stomps Anakin or Wolverine can beat Hulk and thinking my opinion mattered.
now i pretty much just accept the trolling to pass the time. like Stockholm syndrome rape.
A desire to get into in-depth discussions about comics with other passionate fans. I have friends who read comics IRL, but none of them to the enthusiastic (some would say nerdy) extent that we do on the Vine.
I got banned from CBR.....
Should we be keeping an eye on you then.....?
@veshark: always :)
Hmm there was a time when I really liked to read about fictional character bios on the Internet and some of the ones I read were from here.I eventually re-found the site around the time debunking death battle was a huge thing.Turns out I like to debate characters fighting each other, and discussions in general
@static_shock: because i wanted to be with people like me

This basically.
Well ive known about comicvine for a long time since the site was created or pretty close to it because I used to pull pictures off this site and try to recreate them with pencil and paper and failed miserably but that gave me something to do in study halls, but didnt bother to join until 2nd half of 2016 simply because of boredom and I began buying comics again mostly in trade form.
It was my second source for all things comics (I trust the Marvel\DC\Invincible etc. forums), but when I started to find out about CaVs and blogs, I decided to join since I liked debating back then. I found about the site when searching for characters when I was new to comics, also through battling searching (the first one I remeber searching was Kingpin vs Bane).
Boredom, mostly.
@static_shock: My Experience is very similar to yours Static.. 9 years ago lol. Seeing your thoughts as well as Buckshot's really motivated me to read more comics and learn more. You guys deepened my love and interest in BP. Now such a love has grown to an obsession lol..
Other than all that, I love match ups, I love to debate about the heroes.. this site is what began a deeper interest in comics. Wanting to see characters feats, so that I know what they are capable of and can use such feats in a battle thread. I've learned alot of the comic world through match ups. Eventually I joined after I learned more.. didn't want to face any of heavy debaters until I had some real knowledge lol. ??
