Does Thor have the ability of flight, does Mjölnir have the ability of flight or does Thor just throw Mjölnir and hang on for dear life?
Thor Can't Fly?
I'm pretty sure he needs Mjo....his hammer. But that might have been retconned a whiles back, I dunno.

Naw, it was recently mentioned in Thor: God of Thunder #9 that younger Thor couldn't fly because he had no Mjnoir.
@wolverine08: Ha! What a b1tch!
Huh...I thought he could fly without it.
Flying with a hammer is wayyyy cooler :D

Thor has true power fool!
@anbu_b_team: originally he threw Mjolnir and went for the ride, but lately you see him floating so either Mjolnir causes him to float or he can float on his own.

Real men don't need accessories to fly :P
...okay, most real men.
Hmmmm, tough one. I would say it depends, but don't take my word for it, look at the scan below where Thor is battling a female version of Thor:
She throws her hammer at Thor and he catches it (that's why you see him upside down clutching the hammer like a baby), then you can see her fly or "levitate" heading towards Thor. Thor gives her hammer back, so I am pretty sure if she can do it, Thor can-after all they do have the same/similar powers granted MJO.
Yes Thor is capable of flight without Mjolnir, this has been discussed extensively.
In the last scan Those manipulates the winds to generate MFTL speeds, thus achieving flight.
@conner_wolf: On fourth image he had Mjolnir on his belt, lol. On second also.
@rubear: He's not using it to fly tho, that's like if Silver Surfer were to just float in the sky with his board under his arm and you were to claim his board were giving him flight.

Okay, let's phrase it other way. He had his hammer and had access to all of his power as worthy without need to actually hold it in hands. When because of SJWfeministsdumbplot whisper he suddenly became unworthy he no longer could fly on his own just like he could not fly before he get Mjolnir in first place, iirc and judging by scan above. And to claim otherwise'd be like to claim that Silver Surfer had cosmic awarness before he became Herald of Galactus.
@rubear: Well if you want to claim that Thor with Mjolnir under his control is able to fly and without Mjolnir he can't that's different.
And he should very much be able to fly because he can control the winds as I showed above, which should allow him even FTL flight.

Yes, i claim just that and that's how it is.
In last scan he was in flying dragonship. With, you know, sails. And he was not propelling himself with winds. He was propelling ship via sails. And he was talking to... parampampam... his hammer while doing it. This Thor was with Mjolnir under his control.
@rubear: The thing is Mjolnir never granted Thor the ability to manipulate the winds or the weather. That was all Thor's own abilities.
And Thor can propel himself with the winds, it's how he was originally capable of flight without Mjolnir.

Show me where he manipulated winds or weather in recent issues or propelled himself.
@rubear: Don't need to, it's simply common sense. Thor had his power long before he wielded Mjolnir, and still wielded his power after losing Mjolnir. Not always making use of these powers are the writer's choice.
@rubear: Don't need to...
No, show me. You either have evidience of your POV or you don't have them.
Go on, show evidience of Thor using this power after whisper.
@rubear: Again, common sense is the only source I need. Mjolnir does not grant him weather manipulation, he's had that before he had Mjolnir, and thus, logic states, he'll have it after, unless Mjolnir somehow sapped his powers.
This is not a situation of 'pics or it didn't happen' this is a situation of 'By all sense of logic, he should retain those powers".
@conner_wolf: Nice scans, here is another of Thor "levitating":
Yeah, even though his hammer is tucked beside his belt, we need to show that Thor doesn't need to swing his hammer before taking off to fly (because that's how most people interpret how Thor flies)
Wooooo did you see that? lol
Debatable, like I said it just depends on the writer. Yes we have scans of him levitating with the hammer "tucked in his belt", then we scans that portray that he indeed does need the hammer. Here's one example taken from the Might Thor Annual 7:
Stated on panel Thor needs his hammer to fly, here's another example in the same issue:
There you have it folks, stated by the God of Thunder himself
