The Word Ripoff is Overrated!

Many anime,characters,books,manga, & comics where inspired/ influenced by each other. Ripoff is used when someone does not like a particular series and character. People tend to be biased, and pick on the similarities,but not the differences.Everything is inspired or influenced.

I will use some examples.

Superman was influenced by Gladiator (Novel).

Both Hisoka & Johan Liebert were influenced by the Joker.

One Piece is mostly influenced by Disney.

Fiction is like alchemy or chemistry keeps on changing.

Rippoff is just a fanboy term, along with overpowered,depowered,and PIS.

@antimutant001: I think it's over used but not overrated. I don't think Overrated is ever used correctly lol. I also think overhyped is overused, as well as overrated

The terms you mentioned are all valid, they're just hardly ever used in the right context.

There is a difference between being inspired by something and ripping off of someone else's idea.

For example: Sonic the Hedgehog was inspired by Mario.

Digimon is a shameless rip-off of Pokémon.
