I loved it! did exactly what a first issue should do. we saw action, heroism, a glimpse of how smart superman is, great dialogue. im sold onthis book! what do you guys think?
Superman unchained thoughts?
Is it as good as aquaman amd batman have been? Be nice to get a supes story with some good depth
Not as good as Aquaman, I'd give the first issue of Superman Unchained a 3/5.
me too! im excited! Finally a boom that will do him justice. and not have him fighting nameless monsters for 2 issues. hopefully we get some nice long story arcs like court of owls or death of the family
well its only one issue so relly cant compare to the greatness that is aquaman and batman. but it did exactly what I wanted it to do. showed superman being a powerful hero, showed him using his brain, showed him having strong relationships with other characters that I for one cannot wait to read more of and set it up for him to have an awesome new powerful villain....at least I think it was new because idk who that was

It's about time. I'm just glad that he's finally getting the justice he deserves, rather than fighting a giant kryptonian squid monster.
@martyyy15: It's good, definitely not as good as some of his past work, like Hush, but it's more in line with how he was doing on Justice League. I thought that the splash page/poster and the section with Clark and Jimmy looked the best.
im just so happy that MY HERO is getting done justice. I love thor and "thor God of Thunder" but I want to see MY GUY (superman) get a great story and artist as well. and I just cant wait until next month! and I love his new power!!! watch out hulk! lol
I really digged it especially those few panel with Supes reminding himself to think about what to do.
I liked it. It didn't blow my mind, like the kind of stuff I'm used to from Snyder, but it's only the first issue and I shouldn't judge to harshly on only a small part of the story. The one thing that I did not like was the foldout poster. It was more of a nuisance than something I could appreciate. Granted, the art was impressive, but it could just have easily been on a regular sized page. The "poster" (imo) was mainly to give DC another excuse to up the price to five dollars. The poster was awkward and superfluous.
I'm don't generally read Superman comics, but I think Snyder provided a good human portrayal of Superman. And Jim Lee's art rarely disappoints. Overall, I enjoyed it, but was not thoroughly impressed, as I had hoped.
I like it but It wasnt as great has action comics 21.
Tony Daniel art >>>>>> Jim Lee art
And Scott Snyder writing is gonna take time to get used to. I'm thinking of dropping action comics if I don't like the next issue. I already dropped superman at 18.
