Its not bad portrayal at all, its just a completely different characters. Also, K4tz, are these combat Scans you want or just scans in general, because I think I may have a few scans in my real old hard-drive.

He's just insanely arrogant in Suicide Squad.

@ReVamp: I guess anything that can fall into a respect thread would be awesome (statements, training, physical feats, skill feats, etc).

@k4tzm4n: I'll see what I can get, but I should warn you that he really is kind of a compeltely different character. He's borderline insane pre-52 (not exactly true, but that's a general idea) which he probably isn't. Not to mention his personality is all wrong.

@k4tzm4n: Does he still have the mental illness aspect of his character?

@ReVamp: Pretty sure that it was confirmed by DC through Gail (who was not told that he was being used) that this is supposed to be the same Savant that existed Pre-Reboot. In which case, him being portrayed as a completely different character would be a bad portrayal. Again, I only read the first three or so issues, so I could be completely wrong or misquoting.

@The Dark Huntress: @ReVamp: I read a bit of his bio and he definitely seems different, but I was hoping skill feats can still translate for threads.

And thank you both. I've heard there are some other awesome characters in that story (he has a partner?), so you're more than welcome to teaching me about a new obscure character or two :D

Creote! One of my favorite characters EVER and his partner in more than one sense of the word.

If you ever have the opportunity, you absolutely should pick up this run.

Yeah, I heard about him being his partner in just about every sense. Anyway, I'd love to use them in battles.

Oh, it's my understanding that's where the majority of Black Spider's appearances are, too? If there's anything awesome with him, I'd love to see it.

@k4tzm4n: Black Spider that appeared isn't the same IIRC. Also, his first appearance is pretty much the necessary, with the part where he "betrays" the BoP being the second TPB you should get. I believe its Of Like Minds. For the first TPB, but let me check.

@ReVamp: Really? It was my understanding they're intended to be the same characters because I recall a remark about Spider being pushed off a ledge in Suicide Squad.

Well if it was confirmed then it means either one of two things. The first option would be that he's just being rebooted and as such he's the same character but will end up being significantly different in the end, like Superboy or perhaps someone like Warblade would be a better example. The second is that its just horrible writing, which is definitely possible, but with all jokes aside I don't think that its the case here.

...He said that? About Savant? Because it would make sense because according to CV Savant did push the Black Spider off the ledge, but it wouldn't make sense that he was hired by the Calculator which you know because of his unique personality and moral code among the squad.

@ReVamp: Yes, I remember a remark about Black Spider being shoved off a ledge, and I've heard that happened to pre-BS. I don't recall if it was Savant, though. Savant only appeared in the first issue and then re-appeared in 6.

@k4tzm4n: Well, CV says Savant pushed the Black Spider. But this Black Spider tortured Savant and also worked for the Calculator.

@k4tzm4n: They make their debut in Of Like Minds which is handy, because it's the first TPB in Simone's run. They're also in Sensei and Student(which comes next), Between Dark and Dawn (directly after that), The Battle Within (directly after that) and a few other misc. appearances. There's a TPB listing on the volume page.

If I can expand on that: The Appearances on Sensei and Student are minor. Of Like Minds and Between Dark and Dawn are definitely where they appear more as well as The Battle Within.

They also appear in The Perfect Pitch where they fight Slade, however they don't really do anything themselves.

Let me also add that The Perfect Pitch is where his entanglement with the Black Spider that we previously discussed is mentioned, if you're interested in that. Also, you said he got manhandled by Slade which isn't correct at all, in fact, he had been previously tortured and then he still managed to get a shot (literal short, from a gun) on Slade. A feat in durability and accuracy if anything. It does however change my persepctive on the battle we were discussing, Savante doesn't haven nearly enough feats to back himself up -- and now I'll stop because this is off-topic.

Do anyone have scans of when it was broken in these instances?:

1. Molecule Man dispels the atomic bonds between the hammer's molecules, vaporizing Mjolnir, in Avengers #215.

2. Dark god Perrikus slices Mjolnir in half with a magical scythe, in Thor vol. 2 #11.

3. and the hammer is shattered when it collides with the uru weapons of Loki's Storm Giant followers, resulting in an atomic-scale explosion, in Thor vol. 2 #80.
