Poll Red Skull or Sinestro (20 votes)

Hugo Weaving 50%
Mark Strong 30%
I only saw one or didn't see either of the films, I just wanna see the results. 20%

Regardless of which of their respective films was better, these two were each arguably one of the best things about them.

So who do you think played his role better?

Hugo Weaving as the Red Skull
Hugo Weaving as the Red Skull

Mark Strong as Sinestro
Mark Strong as Sinestro

I guess Skull since we saw more of him and he had more impact on the films plot. Doesn't seem fair since we didn't get much of Sinestro, tho I feel Strong as Sinestro had the potential to be better than Skull

Hugo Weaving came one of the most underrated CBM performances in history as Red Skull. He's definitely among the greatest CBM villains ever.

We didn't really get to see much of either, but Red Skull seemed to have more of a motivation for me.

Hugo did okay with an okay use of a character

Strong impressed me with his sinestro. Given the chance he'd be the best thing out of the trilogy that never happened

We're talking strictly about performances here, guys. Let's try not to think about screen time or plot.

Strong was probably the only good thing about the movie.

I made this thread because I thought they were both exceptional, but for very different reasons.

Weaving captured the outrageousness of the Red Skull well, his extreme confidence, his penchant for a bit of flair in his wide stance and his bold, sweeping movements. Strong, on the other hand, was all about the subtleties, Sinestro's innocent yet potentially dangerous overzealousness, his slowly building dissatisfaction, creeping into disgust, with the way the Corps and the Guardians handle things.

Red Skull stood out. Weaving really made the character. Sinestro didn't stand out, but in a good way. Strong fit the character so well that there was nothing amiss to take note of.

Glad to see I wasn't the only one torn on this.
