Question about "....." death in TWD

So, I have a couple of questions regarding Abraham´s and Glenn´s death.

1- In real life, is it possible to completely destroy a grown man´s skull with a barbed wire baseball bat the way Negan did ??

2- In real life, is it possible for a grown man to stay conscious and get up after two strikes from a barbed wire baseball bat the way Glenn did ??

1. I honestly think its possible to kill a person from internal bleeding and brain damage obviously, but I feel like a wooden bat even reinforced with barbed wire would've broke eventually. Contrary to movies and shows the skull is pretty durable, but the contents inside not so much.

2. I don't think so. People have been ko'd by by tripping or just 1 swing from a bat. My dad got knocked out as a kid by a bat (not on purpose like Negan had) but yeah.

What was that ?? If you don´t mind me asking.

I have a hard time believing that the bat would stay whole after, presumably, a long career. Those two probably weren't its only victims.

They´re definitely not the first, Glenn encountered several photos of smashed heads in one of the Saviors "houses", and then in the premiere of S7 someone was seen taking photos of Abraham and Glenn.

I'll try to make this long story short.

An inmate was in a (very small and narrow) shower, and was refusing to cuff up and come out correctly. A Forced Cell Move Team went in to get him out. Somehow, he bit one of the officer's thumbs and latched on (it's a MAJOR miracle the officer didn't lose his thumb...guy was a good buddy of mine actually). Other officer's repeatedly hit him in the head with metal batons and the guy not only stayed conscious, kept fighting back, AND survived. Trust me, two of the guy's hitting him were HUGE, and with another officer in jeopardy they weren't even thinking minimum use of force, and this inmate was not a very big guy, not small but not really big. However, his skull WAS split in seven pieces.

They barely saved my fellow officer's thumb (partially because my buddy was able to hook two of his fingers in the inmate's eye socket so that he didn't fall and shear off the thumb).

Believe it or not, that's the short version.

A couple of things I'll add to the story.

This might put a little into context. Before the team went in, the inmate was jumping up and kicking the (grill surrounded) light fixture in the ceiling of the shower with his feet and landing on his head and shoulders. Dude was plain crazy.

The director of TCDJ-ID (Texas Prison System) saw a picture of the inmate handcuffed to a gurney and upon being told of the inmate's condition (after the entire incident in the shower) was quoted as saying, "You mean that guy's alive?"

In my academic study of the human body, I have read about seemingly trivial bumps to the head that resulted in death, to complete destruction of a significant portion of the brain that resulted in only minor functional difficulties. Each case is unique. I think one of the more interesting cases, and one that is often brought up in medical and behavioral change discussions, is the case of Phineas Gage.

Yep, very ridiculous, it´s a zombie show, what do the parents expect lol.

The first scene of the series shows Rick shooting a child zombie in the head.

The show is rated MA for a reason... kids shouldn't be watching it.
