Scars death in Lion King
This. I was going to say Bambi's Mother's death.
@mysticmedivh: this.
Toy story 3 would be my pick, that movie made me legit teary eyed. Of these though Lion King, I've noticed older folks tend to say Bambi fwiw but that's not here either.
Dumbo is pretty brutal, but I don't think you can top Nani singing Aloha 'oe to Lilo when she's going to be taken away the next day by child protective services.
I was gonna say Mufasa's death...
But dat Dumbo scene though. I had to punch a wall to feel manly again.
Out of the list Fox and the Hound. Not mentioned would be the opening of Oliver and Company gets me everytime.
When Spiderman died in Batman: The Force Awakens.
That part where the bear was yelling at the babydoll saying she doesn't love you anymore always gets me.
While all the others are touching, the dynamics of F&H stand apart from all the others listed.
It wasn't just about loss of a friend/family/pet it was nature&norms (dogs hunt fox) vs. friendship (cooper & tod)
Copper?
You 're my very best friend.
And you're mine too, Tod.
And we'll always
be friends forever, won't we?
Yeah, forever.
-last line of F&H- (both knowing they can't see each other again)

Mufasa's death is bad, but I stopped watching Fox and the Hound as a kid because of how depressing it was. It wins for sure.

The movie starts with the train and the castle and the fireworks and when you wish upon a staaar...
